Highly prized as a guard dragon, the Driller Dragon is notorious as one of the few dragons that can stand toe to toe with such powerful opponents as a Night Fury or a Deadly Shadow... The Driller Dragon's most obvious and most unique feature is the signature drill that grows from the front of its head. This drill like horn spins as rapidly as the teeth of a Whispering Death, allowing the Driller Dragon to cut through materials as sturdy as wood and stone. The only materials that a Driller Dragon can't cut through are metals, such as cast iron and dragon proof metal. This dragon is also intelligent enough to learn and understand a wide range of different commands and information, and can learn new commands in less than a day. These abilities are backed up by incredible aerial speed and maneuverability, including dive bombs that are faster than the speed of sound. This dragon also possesses the ability to ride lightning, possibly rendering it faster than even its similarly aerially inclined cousins. Speaking of lightning, the Driller Dragon possesses the ability to absorb more lightning than even a Skrill, drawing it in with the metallic scales all over its body and the metallic drill and spines lining its back. This gives the Driller Dragon an electric jacket that makes it impossible to fight without a similarly lightning resistant dragon... or without getting electrocuted. The Driller Dragon is also known to use this ability to recharge spent shot limits, charge up intensely focused blasts, and even cloak itself... which it can also do by blasting its own lightning in front of it and then flying through its own lightning blast. That being said, the Driller Dragon's blast is also vulnerable to a similar interaction with the Night Fury's plasma blast to the Skrill's lightning blast, only more powerful. The Driller Dragon is additionally notably strong- being able to lift an entire viking longship out of the water and fly off with it. As such, they are also used to pull wagons and sleds full of caged dragons, dragon hunters, dragon body parts... some are even used by the Order of Ingerman to help them flush out wild dragons by letting beaters armed with eels, horns, and loud metal clappers ride them through the hunting cordon. The Driller Dragon is similar to the Night Fury in personality, but bolder, more aggressive, and more upfront with its curious, investigative nature. As a result, it's more easily captured than the Night Fury, but also harder to train due to the strong possibility of it escaping captivity or attacking its would be trainer...
