They're fairly new to the crew and haven't met the humans who are able to see the inhabitants of his world. The hair works like actual hair, but feels like the hair from a doll.

Their horns can change shape, can grow back and are differently colored and he can swap which horn is yellow and which is red.

Diego the demon had received this new assistant last night, he just doesn't want to tell the humans he's met about the newbie since he himself is afraid that the newbie may be frightened by the presence of people.
