It is for Ludumdare 12 48 hour game development compo [link]

Ok here is my final entry. It is far from being polished but I am up for 17 hours 12 of which were programming… My brains are messy now :D
So no sounds, no bunch of planed effects and sleek interface… And output codes may not be forum friendly… Not time to test and debug but mostly game works.

Also sorry for English don’t have willpower to go and check if I did some mistakes and ofcourse there are bugs and glitches :D

But at least I did everything I wanted from mechanics point of view. Enjoy this game and share bugs and replays here plz.

Issue list:
1) Problem with block hitting in the air and thus setting building height to level that was not archived....
2) Adding wordwrap to replay box.
3) Fixing highscores layout and scroll bar.
4) Controller sometimes remembers what you held in previous game
5) Problems with menus
6) Sometimes replay works wrong
7) Adding next block type
8) Adding look down button

I am looking to commission/partner, yes. I can't Flash and with all the projects I am and could be directing or assisting with in the very near future, I don't really have time to learn and wouldn't be able to do much with the skills.

I need to raise funds for a ton of productions and a bid for a very unique and complex board-style game, in digital and physical editions, is one of the surer and shorter term productions/longer term benefits ideas I have had, aside from commissioning large series of beautiful themed artworks for resale.

I've been describing the game as a combination of Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Reversi and Stratego, with unique elements of its own; digital series title Forged In Hell, physical series titled else. I'm actually working on building the physical version prototype for patenting right now.

I'm looking for a fairly complex test sample, low graphics, high interactiviys features. If you are still interested, I can give you some details privately...

Well when things are really serious distance does ring for me :) And interest :) I have interests on finishing my Master degree this year and then registering my own firm here and start making games seriously :) So I am not interested in participating in anything. Have my own way before me already sorry :)

Awesome.
Hey, I dont know how this could be implemented, but if you have the time, could you maybe make a way of seeing the structure down below when it is beyond view.
Like, when you press space a few times and the screen scrolls up so that you cant see the actual structure or where the floor is, a little box comes down the bottom which shows the structure and has an arrow pointing to where it is (like super smash brothers or something)
Also, a thing which shows what the next block will be would be helpful.
These are all just small gameplay things which would be nice, but are low priority.

Btw, the instructions text is selectable. Might wanna fix that.

Ah, I see. I've been wondering... why does the screen have to scroll up so much when I press space sometimes? If you reduced the amount of scrolling when space is pressed, then it could potentially resolve this issue, right?

No it won't :) It puts new block higher then highest available at the moment. I hoped to resolve this issue this way but it seems that it was not solved... Will think on it more later... I think i can try to solve it by checking block speed and if it is high then not taking it in consideration when calculating highest block.

But placing new block above highest current block is a must anyways cuz if you don't then new block may be created in the or belove block you just created :D

I tough of different thing. When you hold space block falls. When you release it block stops falling. So new block is created only when he hit other block. Would resolve this i hope. Also there will be bunch of other fixes :)
