The VERY FIRST art of the wonderiks

This art piece is very important to me because it was a moment when the Wonderiks came alive.

I created this picture somewhere between 2010 and 2012. It was summer, and I was sitting near a river with a sketchbook, trying to create a creature that reflected my soul and feelings at that moment.

As you probably noticed, their bodies were pretty different at the very beginning. Wonderiks are evolving The legs became much longer, the tail and belly got fatter, and the body color changed.

But the only thing that has never changed is the face! Big ears, pure black eyes with no whites, no eyebrows, no nose or visible mouth. Since then, despite I tried to add eyebrows or a mouth many times, it never worked. They would lose their main feature immediately. And I realized that Wonderiks will never show their nose or lips.

This puts a lot of restrictions on me in terms of expressing emotions. I have to use poses (that are also very restricted because of their body shape ) and the environment to show the feelings I want.
