Hans my Hedgehog by Wolf-Suit Hans my Hedgehog by Wolf-Suit
A detail of Maurice Sendak's illustration for Grimm's "Hans my Hedgehog" that I replicated using two 0.05 fineliners (now deceased), an afternoon, and a severe hand cramp.
Who knew that a bag-pip playing hedgehog riding on a rooster could look so good?

Great job with the hatching and the values with the ink. Wonderful concept as well ;)

I wish I could take more credit for the composition. It's a tiny square I cropped out from one of Maurice Sendak's "Juniper Tree" illustrations and redrew at 10x the size.
Man, that man loves detail. Even at super size it was tricky to define the forms without any outlines.

I still think you did a good job on it. And 10x the scale is a big jump!
