Unfortunately and with a heavy heart I had to delete all custom tattoo designs from my gallery and so I will do on my other websites as well. The reason is that people obviously have problems to respect individuality and take my work even if it is marked as property of a certain person - the person who commissioned me to design the corresponding tattoo, the person who paid a lot of money to get a unique tattoo. I know, maybe it was naive to think there could be something like respect among those who appreciate my art, but actually putting the finished works online was the only chance to show the world what I do... Recently designing tattoos has become my main occupation and it is quite clear that the amount of these jobs will decrease if I no longer can promote my work on the net. But the integretiy towards my customers is more important than the amount of commissions so I will have to find another way of promoting my art.
Sorry for those who just enjoyed looking at my art and fuck those who steal! May the ink poison your skin - my curse is upon you!
There haven't been so much submissions recently though I was constantly working my ass off. I made some really kick ass bracers that easily outclass nearly all others in my gallery, another sleeve tattoo, a band logo and so on - the funny thing about all of these comissioned works is, that I have to wait publishing them here or on my blog since they are either gifts or labeled as "top secret" by the customers for other reasons... So you won't see any of these awesome pieces so soon...
There hasn't been much crafting here recently - starting a buisness and doing some designs like tattoos and bandlogos kept me away from leather and bone. This will change very soon but so long I will spam a bit I just realized that I did not submit any of the photographs I did on some walks around my house in december. There are some nice ones and for those who enjoy beautiful animal in beautiful surrounding, I can promise some nice shot! Enjoy!
As always I want to thank all watchers, commentators and favers - your support will never be forgotten! Extra thanks to all who signed the petition against the Wolfhunt in Sweden - even it did not prevent the hunt, more than 23000 (to date - however the petition continues...) peoples voices speak a distinct speech! Here's my translation of the text on the petition site for those who are not able to understand swedish - it might be far from perfect, but I think it's enough to explain the whole thing:
Say NO to another licensed Wolf Hunt in 2011!
On january the 15 th 2011 the starting shot will be fired for another extensive wolfhunt in Sweden.
In spite of the fact that the population is small and fragile, Sweden continues to shot wolves this winter.
Last years' hunt resulted in the shoting of many alpha leaders and that one of the last year's litters was left without their parents. There are no indications that these puppies might have survived. Furthermore, in relation to the size of the wolf population, too many wolves were shot and additionally the death rate has been unusually high after the hunt. The difficult genetic situation hasn't improved and any hunt will further aggravate the state. If genetic strengthening will work out is not known yet.
In 2011 there are plans to shot 20 wolves in the six counties Dalarna, Gävleborg, Västra Götaland, Värmland, Örebro och Västmanlands län. Again about 10 % of the wolf population are supposed to be shot, despite the fact that Wolves are a heavily endangered species in Sweden. The hunt will be carried out in the same way as last year, which means that there are no restrictions taking the wolves into consideration. Neither parental couples with puppies nor offspring from immigrated wolves are protected.
In Sweden there's no possibilty to appeal against the licensed hunt, even though it lacks a legal as well as a scientific basis. Therefore Svenska Rovdjursföreningen, Naturskyddsföreningen, Världsnaturfonden WWF and Djurskyddet Sverige reported last winter's hunt to the responsible EU-commission. A reply is yet anticipated.
The swedish government motivates the hunt with the argument that it obtains acceptance for wolves. However a majority of the swedish folk, even in regions with an occurence of wolves, has already a positive opinion towards wolves in Sweden. On the other hand there's no indication at all that the minorities which oppose the wolf have changed their minds to a more tolerant stance since last year's wolf hunt.
Show the swedish politicians that you take a stance against the hunt and support the wolf!
Make your voice heard and sign the petition below that will be handed over to Environment Secretary Andreas Carlgren.
Take the cahnce and become a member of the Svenska Rovdjursföreningen/Swedish Association for Predators: www.rovdjur.se.
* I protest against the licensed wolf hunt 2011 in Sweden and demand that it stops! No licensed wolf hunt before there is a wolf population in Sweden that is genetically healthy and viable!
* I also protest against the limitation of the wolf population to a maxiumum number of 210 individuals! Let the population grow and set a new preliminary aim of 400 wolves until there is a plan for a long-sighted viable wolfpopulation in Sweden!
Sweden has one of the most vulnerable european wolf populations; it is small, isolated and genetically heavily impoverished. Furthermore in Sweden a lot of wolves get killed, legally and illegally. The recent activities are completely out of the authorities' control and there has been a strong escalation in association with the licensed hunt. Just in 2010 about 40 swedish wolves have been shot legally - out of a total population number of approximately 250 individuals. Out of the total death rate of around 60 wolves in one year the majority of cases were due to hunting. Another unknown quantity of dead wolves has to be added due to illegal hunt.
- Any hunt corrupts the situation for the very vulnerable wolf population.
- The plan of releasing genetically unrelated wolves struggles against huge problems and is insufficient.
Well, I 've got some 90 cm snow in front of my door and I am literally almost drowning in the white cold death outside... So I stay inside and... "Yes", you might think, "time to answer all our pending comments" - But I am forced to do nothing most of the time because of constant electric blackouts and internet breakdowns. So in fact it might be even harder right now to get in contact with me than usual... However I hopefully managed to submit my two recent works when you read this, so have a look and enjoy! Keep warm!
The period of almost complete inactivity continues - I am still working on some custom works, new ideas and actually I am on the verge to change my business from a "hobby" to an official company, a step which became necessary after all the success I had with my art in the two recent years. This is also the reason why my webshops are currently on hold (for those of you who may have wondered). But don't worry - all items will be available again plus some new stuff Maybe you are also interested in watching my new promo videos - just check em out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC5pl_… and www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3eE-w… The vast majority of works can be seen here in my gallery (maybe all of them - I am not sure), however it may be nice anyway with the music and so on... Hope you enjoy them!
I even started to finally answer my comments - so maybe all those of you who still wait for my reply can be full of hope
I just want to use this journal to point towards the Belus competition one (last) more time and to request the help of you guys and girls out there who did not vote for me yet: www.burzum.org/eng/contest/
As always I want to thank all watchers, commentators and favers - your support will never be forgotten!
Some last words? Save the wolves and smash the hunting lobby!
MyntKat myntkat.deviantart.com/,the current Gallery Moderator for the Artisan Crafts gallery puts the spotlight on the Leatherwork gallery in her journal this week. In her leather carving special you can read interviews with me and 4 other leather-artists news.deviantart.com/article/13… - you may find some interesting insights there!
Furthermore I d' like to point to the running Belus contest at Burzum.org www.burzum.org/eng/contest/ - I partake with my work "Balder's Helfahrt / A funeral for the white God"
Please vote for me! To be perfectly honest, I really think I should win
Last but not least a big "Thank you!" to all commentators, favers and followers - even if I still lack the time to reply - your support and feedback is not forgotten!
...right now. Therefore I need to say sorry to all of you who wait for a reply to your messages or comments! I have been f.....' busy the last weeks and this week will be no less exhausting than the whole last month... So I won't be able to react on anything that screams for an answer so soon either. But I promise - everything will be answered! The reasons? Well, first of all there was a pair of comissioned drinking horns that kept me very engaged. I will post some pictures here soon too. Then I am working on my contribution to a competition running on Burzum.org right now. Beside those artistical extreme attempts there is the common madness of a living close to nature with a bunch of wolfdogs... Right now it's mushroom time and I spend hours every day with collecting, cleaning and drying...
My last words are dedicated to my watchers, favers and commentators - Thank you very much!
...in advance. Changed my camera, got a Canon 7D now and while learning to use it some really nice shots of my wolfdogs came out. Since I am fully engaged with some custom works there won't be any new handcraft stuff so soon. Instead you will get wolfdog-pics - a lot of them! So if you hate wolves and dogs or the combination of both you should delete my current deviation stack.
As always I want to thank all new watchers, favers and commentators! You rule!
... at least for those who often asked themselves (or me) "How are these bone jewelry pieces made?" The answer could be this varglya.blogspot.com/2010/07/a… Here you can find the step by step working procedure for this Thor's Hammer:
Hope you enjoy it!
Furthermore I want to thank all my new watchers, favers and commentators! Your support is always highly appreciated!
First of all - thanks to all new watchers and all who faved, featured or commented of my works - your support and praise are appreciated!!!
Wow - yesterday I submitted and today it has already more than 120 faves - this is an unusually fast gain for one of my photographs... I obviously hit the nerve this time
You also may have seen my recent crafted item: , there will be more like this soon (hopefully) At this point I am very busy with custom works and shop sales that have to be executed first, so there's not as much time for new creations as I would wish.
As you may have realized by the fact of some new photo submissions, I am back from my trip. However I picked the 3 Wolf pics for a reason - they perfectly show my current state of activity here on DA. I am watching but resting However in real life I'm anything else but lazy. I had some orders in my shops while I was away and there is some other stuff that I couldn't finish before my departure two weeks ago. Furthermore the sun has returned to the northern lands which means that there's a lot to do beside my arts and crafts. So it might take a while until I will fully return to my old level of activity here. All who wait for my replies - please be patient just a bit longer!
Thanks to all my new watchers and those who gave me faves - it's appreciated! Hails to you!
