========== WRITTEN TEST ==========

Mirage stood in front of a tall, black building with walls designed with elegant swirls and patterns.  Above the polished doors was a marble sign engraved with the name "Café Obscurité" in fancy writing.  From the windows filtered soft candle light, idle banter, and quiet music.  Overall, the restaurant appeared quite ritzy, which made Mirage rather nervous.  She was not at all used to such high levels of sophistication, and she certainly didn't have the money to pay for it.  However, she had been told to come here to meet a Guild Representative, no exceptions.  Taking a deep breath, the Zoroark stepped forward and pulled on the daintily fashioned golden door handle.

As she stepped onto the shiny wooden floor of the restaurant, Mirage was met by a bored-looking Simisage.  "It's a three hour wait, unless you have a reservation," he stated flatly.

"W-well, I'm actually supposed to be meeting someone...  Has a Guild Representative shown up, by any chance?" the Zoroark stammered nervously, shifting her weight from foot to foot.

A scowl crossed the Grass-Type's face, though for what reason, Mirage couldn't guess.  "Ah.  This way, then."

The Simisage led Mirage through the restaurant.  The Zoroark felt incredibly out of place in the exquisite atmosphere, and she found herself bumping into tables and chairs.  Several angry comments and one spilled beverage later, Mirage was shown to a table near the back of the restaurant that was already occupied by a very familiar Furret.

"Cuffin?" Mirage exclaimed as the Simisage stalked away.  "You're the representative?"

The Normal-Type narrowed his odd blue eyes.  "Are ya implyin' something?"

"Oh, no no, of course not," Mirage replied hastily, seating herself.  "It's just... Well, you're not what I was expecting, that's all."

Cuffin stared for a moment longer, then returned to his standard grin.  "Alrighty, then!  It's nice to see ya again, Mirage!  That's a nice shawl ya got there."

Before the Dark-Type could respond, an Empoleon sauntered up to the table, a few menus held in his flippers.  He attempted to hand one to Cuffin, but the Furret shoved it back, requesting, "The usual."

The waiter glared at Cuffin for a moment, then turned to Mirage and gave her a menu.  As he did so, the Furret chirped, "Feel free to order your favorite; this one's on the Guild's checkbook."

Mirage stared hopelessly at the menu, having next to no idea what to do.  While she knew how to read, she didn't do it often, and thus was out of practice.  She had also been in only the simplest of eateries, and didn't recognize the vast majority of the dishes.  The Empoleon impatiently staring at her wasn't very helpful, either.  In the end, she found something that was relatively inexpensive (compared to the rest of the dishes) and pointed to it.  "This one, please," she muttered awkwardly, showing it to the waiter.  The Water-Type frowned at her, then quickly snatched up the menu and left.

Watching him go, Cuffin remarked, "No sense of humor."

"Um, sure, sure," Mirage mumbled, embarrassed.  Stupid Zoroark, she thought to herself. How are you supposed to show dominance over him if you can't even seem dignified in a restaurant?

The Zoroark could feel numerous questioning and disdainful stares from the other diners, and she desperately wanted to get the meeting over with as soon as she could.  In an attempt to further the conversation, she asked, "So, what exactly am I here for, again?"

Cuffin, who had been slouching lazily in his seat, abruptly straightened. "Oh, right.  So... I work for this kid, Sundance.  He made me promise to ask ya a few things before I go off on my own thing.  I tried to tell him that since we met before. I had all the info he needed, but he insisted.  Anyway, he'll get his feathers in a bunch if I don't, so humor me.  First things first: why do ya wanna join the Hunters?"  As he asked the question, the Furret dramatically rolled his eyes, emphasizing the redundancy of the interview.

"Well, as I told you before, it seems to be the best option for me," Mirage began.  "The Researchers are famous for being know-it-alls, which I'm really not.  The Explorers-er-" the Zoroark paused, wondering how to say something vague without causing curiosity.  Because I really, really don't want to tell anyone that...  "They aren't my type, to be honest.  The Hunters, meanwhile, work throughout the city, which would give me a chance to familiarize myself with it.  They also work in the shadows, both figuratively and literally, and since I'm a Dark-Type and all, I figure I'd be pretty good at that.  Speaking of types, the Hunters are mainly run by Dark-Types, so... relatability, I guess?"

"All right.  Respectable, yeah.  Down the list..." Cuffin picked up a sheet of parchment that was resting on the table.  However, he didn't even do so much as glance at it before crumpling it between his paws and tossing it over his shoulder, hitting a waitress who was returning to the kitchen.  Ignoring her glare, the Furret asked in a bored tone of voice, "What can you bring to the Hunters?  What skills or talents can you utilize for us?"

Mirage chuckled softly, smirking. "I don't mean to brag, but my illusionary abilities are pretty awesome.  Iv'e always had a real knack for it.  I can make objects, Pokémon, landscapes, pretty much whatever I need to fit my goals.  For instance..."  Mirage closed her eyes and concentrated on an image of Sundance.  She had not seen the Guild's heir too often, but she still had a good idea of what he looked like: the scruffiness of his fur and feathers, the way light glinted off of his head gem, the stark whiteness of his claws, and the peculiar style in which he wore his jacket.  She continued to focus, ignoring a gasp from Cuffin as she did her work.  When done, Mirage opened her eyes, which now seemed red rather than blue, and asked,"Well?"

Up until that point, Cuffin had not directly looked at Mirage, or anything else, for that matter.  Now he gaped at the Dark-Type's new appearance.  After a few seconds, he let out a delighted laugh.  "You look exactly like him!" the Furret exclaimed loudly, attracting the attention of several diners and waiters.  Cuffin ignored them, instead closely examining Mirage's facade.  "Well, almost exactly," he added.  "He has this weird symbol painted around his left eye.  Sorta looks like yours, actually."

"Oh yeah, of course," Mirage replied.  Upon seeing her fix the error, Cuffin laughed again.

"You should do that in front of him!" the Furret suggested, grinning mischievously.  "It'd scare him right out'a his feathers!"

"Maybe," Mirage responded with a giggle.  Then she shook herself, suppressing her amusement.  He would never do something so childish.  If I want to be able to rise up to meet him, then neither will I.

With ease, she dropped her ruse, eliciting a variety of hushed responses from the other inhabitants of the restaurant.  Continuing on from her previous statement, she added, "I'm still working on auditory impressions somewhat, but other than that, I'm nearly perfect with my abilities."

"Yeah, yeah, I gotcha.  I look forward to seeing some more of that soon enough.  Now, just to be clear, your answer doesn't mean you're gonna be taken or thrown out.  This is basically just..." Cuffin paused for a moment, putting a paw to his chin.  "Formalities...  Yeah, formalities.  I  think that's that word he used.  Whatever that means."

With a smirk, the Furret leaned it, lowering his voice.  "This one's more interestin', to the little guy's credit.  Are you against doin' things that the Royal Guard ain't gonna like if they catch ya doin' em?"

Mirage paused for a moment, considering.  "Well, I'm joining the Hunters, aren't I?  I mean, I usually stick to the good side of the law, but if disobeying it is part of the deal, then I don't have any real problem with it.  I'll go by my Guild's rules, not the others'.  Besides, if I pay attention, I probably won't get caught anyway, what with my illusionary tricks and all."  And I'll do whatever it takes to ensure that that backstabber gets what's coming to him.

"It ain't me, just sayin'.  I know well enough that if yer here, then you an' I are prolly already aware of the answer to that question.  Just needed something to tell the kid."  Cuffin stretched, paws grabbing towards the ceiling.  Then he sighed and slumped back down, resting his arms on either side of the chair.  "Whew.  Alright, enough of that stuff.  The kid is on the right track, but sometimes it seems like the royals crammed a stick really far up there, if you know what I mean.  All these 'formalities' and junk...  Anyway, I've got a couple of questions myself that I wanna ask ya.  Firstly, whatever happened to that Egg ya had?  I don't see it with ya.  It didn't get busted when the statue attacked, I hope?"

"Oh no, nothing like that.  I've got it right here." Reaching into her mane, Mirage tugged out an Egg whose shell was a mix of lavender and rosy pink.  "As you can see, it hasn't hatched yet.  I'm not sure when it will.  During the attack, though, it somehow got a crack in it.  Kinda concerning, really."

"It doesn't look so bad," Cuffin observed, gently tracing the shallow crack with his paw.  "I wouldn't fret about it, if I were you."

"Good to know," Mirage chirped, tucking the Egg back into her mane.  "I got a hood for whatever hatches, too.  I left it at home, though.  Anyway... there was something else you wanted to ask me, right?"

"Right, indeed." The Normal-Type glanced around, then leaned forward.  "You already know the basic stuff, so I'm gonna level with ya.  Truth is, the Hunters are all about knowin' things about everybody else.  Yer gonna learn secrets that nobody else will know.  It'll change the way you look at his whole city, and yer prolly not gonna like what you see, but you'll always know exactly what's goin' on under that coat of sugar.  I wouldn't blame ya if you'd rather go hang out with a Guild that doesn't deal with the worst of what Andalusst can offer."

"I don't know if or why you're trying to dissuade me from joining, but it's not gonna work," Mirage replied quickly.  "I'm used to finding the darker side of things. I don't care what's thrown at me; I'm up for it."

Cuffin stared in surprise for a moment, as if perturbed by the sudden seriousness in Mirage's tone.  He soon disregarded it, however, and broke into a wide grin.  "Is that so?  Well... to be honest, I would've blamed ya, actually.  Who doesn't wanna know everything about everybody?  Life is all about keepin' your options as open as possible 'til the right moment."

The sound of footsteps brought to the duo's attention the Empoleon waiter, who had returned with food-filled flippers.  As he set down the platters, Mirage realized with pleasant surprise that she had ordered fish.  She rather enjoyed fish, and this particular fish looked incredibly appetizing.  The Zoroark wasn't entirely sure what to do with the utensils she had been given, but she felt she would figure it out soon enough.

Before she can begin to eat, Cuffin raised his glass.  "To the new recruit," he announced.

With a start, Mirage realized that she should most likely raise her glass as well, and quickly did so.  As the Zoroark wondered which utensil she was supposed to use, the Furret added, "That's you, just so you know."

Up next will be the NPC meme for T.J., followed by maybe an art app for this team, and perhaps other applications.  After eating lots of Easter candy, of course.
EDIT: Fixed a bunch of minor typos I found while reading it over.
EDIT EDIT: Don't mind me, just updating a few things!  Organizing the inventory, getting the logbook up to date, making the bios slightly more official, yadda yadda ya.

BIOS:
Zoroark la plz Mirage is a mainly happy-go-lucky Zoroark who attempts (and sometimes fails) to see the bright side of things.  She is shy and awkward in unfamiliar places and with unfamiliar people, but can be quite friendly if she knows someone.  She is not a very good fighter- heck, she's not even adequate.  She's TERRIBLE in battles.  Most of her moves won't pack that much punch, that is, if they even hit their target instead of missing or backfiring.  But what she lacks in physical strength, she makes up for in illusionary abilities.  Her ability to warp the world around her is very advanced, showing up even most adult Zoroarks.
Despite her optimistic outlook, she seems to have some darkness shrouding her past.  While details are unclear, it has been shown that she seeks vengeance of some sort on a Pokemon named Blood, the battle strategist of The Archetypes, a famous Explorer team.

Egg1  (Egg Bullet (Pink) - F2U! ) The Egg was found by Mirage while she was making her way to Andalusst.  Signs of hatching have slowly but surely begun to appear, but Mirage doesn't know what will hatch from it.  During the commotion caused by Regigigas, the Egg gained a small crack.  What will this lead to?  Nobody knows....  Currently, it is under the care of T.J. while Mirage is in Geoda.

Since you asked, these are the errors that I saw:

"Cuffin, who had been slouching lazily in his eat, abruptly straightened. 'Oh, right.  So... I work for this kid, Sundance.  He made me promise to ask ya a few things before I go off on my own thing....'"

'eat' should be 'seat', I believe, and there seems to be a misplaced period here:

"'Good to know,' Mirage chirped, tucking the Egg back into her mane.  'I got a hood for whatever hatches, too.  I left it at home. though.  Anyway... there was something else you wanted to ask me, right?'"

I enjoyed it. The reader can envision the scenario well with all of the added descriptions, and it doesn't feel like you're trying too hard to push the details. You have a nice style.
