The definition of a southern belle is probably one that fits Maple the best. With sweet and gentle charm this young lady is more than happy to help out her fellow townsfolk whether it be helping them with some of their work or mending torn clothing. Maple is the kind of person who if you told them that you wanted to spend time with her would pack a full picnic or make tea and cookies for the engagement, some call it over the top but she simply loves prepping it all. Between her joy in baking and work as a seamstress she comes off as having a very creative and crafty persona. Being from a small town in the countryside her world is a lot more closed off than other individuals, while being open to new ideas and lifestyles she does get flustered and confused easily by new things. Due to this and her nature of drifting off in her own mind as she works there are days she might spend working on a new quilt but ends up making it a bit too long. Though she does her best never to admit that she was spacing out or making mistakes because she doesn't want to seem incapable to others.

"Hello there!! It is an honor and pleasure to even be considered for this sort of opprotunity. My name is Maple Rivers, I come from a small farming town called Lyndell. My family owns a popular tavern where I help out with the repairing of our guests' garbs. I am pretty good at mending and tailoring outfits to fit any sort of form but my talents do not stop there. When I became old enough to travel around to nearby towns I began to expand my own knowledge of tailoring by examining exotic wares and buying new foreign materials. To be honest I was pleased as a peach when I had my first sale of a thick wool lined jackets to some folks heading off to Ekialdean, made me feel like I could be doing more out there rather than stuck in Lyndell. My expertise doesn't just stay with clothes though, I can make bags, linens, quilts, and probably more if I have enough time to study it.

So I hope to hear back, thank you for reading my letter!"

F u l l H i s t o r y
Born in the large farming village of Lyndell on the continent of Seoshuu, Maple and her family ran a popular tavern in town. This tavern was run by their whole family; James and Lillie also known as her parents, and her three brother Finn, Clarke, and Mason. Life in their village was pleasant, helping tired townsfolk to a warm meal and music. Maple spent most of her time with her mother, learning how to sew from her and to cook from Finn as well, while the other two of her brothers took care of the front of the house with their father. It wasn't an especially fancy life but it was theirs and they loved it. Evenings would consist of her helping to bake peach tarts while listening to the bustle of customers laughing and the sound of Mason playing a merry tune on his fiddle.

Their tavern offered rooms for their guests as well as tailoring services due to the wear and tear of the rancher's work. Seeing as the men of the family were already busy running their inn and working in the fields, Maple quickly jumped onto helping her mother with the tailoring. At first it began with small stitches and fixes but soon became fully creating and selling some of her own apparel. Being from Seoshuu there was an abundance of wool and other materials for the creation of clothes and soon found that taking some of her wares over to the nearby port that she herself could start making money by shipping them over Ekialdean. As time passed she started even versing herself with making textiles, working bags, and quilts.

Saving most of her money Maple started to amass a small nest-egg of money that belonged all to her, making her feel proud of her inventive nature and talents. On a fine summer day, a twenty-three year old Maple found a flyer for a settlement being established on an island called Umeojin. Gathering together her courage she told her family about the flyer and her interest to set out into the world, however was met with only the disapproval of her father who didn't want his only daughter to travel out to the town to some new settlement. Though her father should have kept in mind the persistent attitude she had inherited from her mother. Every few weeks the discussion would be brought up, whether it be through passive means or a flyer being brought to his face as his youngest child would talk about wanting to go out and to learn more about the world. After half a year of convincing Maple soon found herself writing a letter to the settlement with an application to become a resident.

Being out on my own in a nice place like Umeojin, it would be a breath of fresh air and step in the right direction towards becoming my own person."
