Art Challenge

1 min read

Hi all!

I would like to increase the activity of the group and thought that the artists who still visit it could cooperate and participate in the challenge.

My idea is that we draw a series of artworks based on one of the less popular characters - Ravanen Kimbolt (that mean baron from the second part of the game).

That is, we draw Kimbolt and, since it takes time to confirm the art in the album, we throw off the images in the comments under THIS journal.

Next - each participant of the challenge, of course, writes his own commentary and saves the art of each other participant (I don't think that there will be so many of us to clog up our faves).

 Hey guys,

we won't allow any AI gen images in this group, as we do not support and never supported art theft. We only support human artists, their amazing talent and their great stunning artworks, done with hours of expertise, effort and knowledge, nothing that could be synthetize in a simple text prompt. We support human artists rights and their professions. We do not consider AI gen images "art", as there is no passion or sufference or feelings behind them. AI users are not welcome in The Witcher DamNation and are invited to use other groups. In fact, witchers exist to protect humans :)

Submission of a AI gen image lead to a straight ban and user will be immediately blocked (at least by me).

None of us-real human artists ever gave consent to train any AI algorythm, thus we consider each AI made image as stolen.

And no, the fact that an image is published online DOES NOT MEAN CONSENT TO USE. If you still think so, go back to school, learn to read, learn copyright laws, come back and kindly ask an artist  consense. Or please, get a talent and a real art course :)

Sorry, not sorry.

Peace :)

Hi Monster slayers!

A quick disclaimer for new members and whoever wish to enter the group. We generally don't allow porn and BDSM submissions any more. So please, if you join the group willing to submit this kind of art, consider that this group may be not for you. I am sure there's plenty of similar groups on this website, porn and BDSM friendly.

But we will always be glad to receive any kind of art of The Witcher Fandom! So if your art is slightly erotic, sexy, soft ecchi and romantic, then it is welcome in our group too!

We already explained the reason why we stopped accepting porn and BDSM (browse our journal entries please) and I am pretty sure that we don't need to see so many porn to prove that we are REAL The Witcher fans and ethusiasts.

Peace!

Here's the story:  We stated clearly in the rules multiple times to submit artworks in the right folders.

Here's the group rules, for your convenience:

Rules www.deviantart.com/witcher-dam…

Category list www.deviantart.com/witcher-dam…

There are four main reasons why your submission might be declined:

:bulletpink: You're giving us a "watchers only" submission:
We get many submissions. We don't have the time or will to follow every account that makes Witcher art on our personal accounts just so we'd know if you're submitting yours into a correct folder. And neither do the followers of this group, I bet. So privated submissions will be declined automatically.

:bulletred: It was submitted to a wrong folder:

I'm sorry, but neither of us have the time or strength to contact everyone who submitted to wrong folder, so we'll decline without comment. You're welcome to contest the decline, but be sure - it was not due to your skill, quality of art or anything that would imply yours is not to par. No. It was most likely just wrong folder. And you're welcome to resubmit. Worst case, if you're not sure, submit your artwork to both folders you're considering and we'll decline one, and accept one.

:bulletblue: Your submission is pornographic, high-end triggering or too violent even by witcher standards:

Some amount of nudity, tasteful art is fine. But after tens to hundreds of submissions a day where we had to filter through lumps, humps, violence, assault, and so on - we're kind of done with it. So moving forwards we'll decline the "too much".

:bulletpurple: Your artwork has nothing to do with Witcher universe:

Sometimes that happens. Sometimes we get elves or other fantasy artworks, but they have nothing to do with Witcher. No hard feelings.

:bulletgreen: Stolen art:

I think this is self-explanatory. We can't check every piece, of course, but if yours is obviously stolen or someone reports it to us as stolen - we decline or remove. You can do better than this, please hold yourself to a better standard.

These rules apply to both Witcher DamNation group and Anno Decadence for CP77 group.

Thank You to everyone contributing your wonderful artworks. You're all amazing, BREATHTAKING people.

He died of stage 4 lung cancer that spread through his body, seemingly very rapidly. Covid prevented us from getting proper check-ups, and doctors didn't feel like it was necessary to make exceptions either. To the last of it, most of medics that failed us so greatly, claimed there's nothing wrong with a man who couldn't walk for almost half a year by then, and complain of absolutely constant pain in his side, where his lung was rotting.

He was 60 years old, loved to fish and pick mushrooms in autumn. Didn't particularly like to eat the latter ones, but mum and I didn't complain, we both love the forest bounty. Fish is a whole other story though, since we all love fish. For father's day this year, even though he was barely walking anymore, I asked him what he'd like, and he asked for another annual fisher's permit, as was our tradition by then. He fully expected to use it. I fully expected him to get better too...

He also enjoyed what little gardening he could do at home. Mostly by planting the plants, and asking mum to clean up what mess he made while he was at it. It was a running joke between mum and I.

He died fast, cancer eating him so rapidly that in two weeks time we couldn't even gather the thoughts of the fact that he is, in fact, dying, and not just sick. Not until the very last days, when he clearly lost his mind, became delirious, and started losing breath harder. That week feels like a movie even now. Every step seemed done by a script: cousins from far away who were close to my pops visited. One helped change his clothes, helped find an easier way to administer painkillers so he'd not be so agitated by a process he could no longer understand. Other cousin helped us get the required medications, brought him this nutritional drink he couldn't keep down, but it was such a generous shot she made that I appreciate it to this day. We found a way to prop a table on the end of his bed so he'd not roll out as he did twice before, leaving us with a very terrible and heavy task to lift this 100 kilos weighting man back into bed. 100 kilos might seem a lot, but hey, he was 125 when it began, when he stopped walking, and yet, with stage 4 cancer still hidden, in the eyes of the medics he was healthy...

This one night friend explained how they count breaths for Covid patients, how it's a good indicator when one must get to hospital, ER, and advised us, now aware of the lung cancer, to keep a watch over his breaths. Mum counted it one time, reaching 25, with 30 being the limit where they can intubate you for oxygen. But a half hour later I counted 27, and we rushed to get an ambulance. We had to find people to carry him down too: his best friend, and my

sister's husband who lost his father too, so I imagine the pain was familiar to him once again.

In the morning they called us to say he was gone. It was July 15th, 7.15am. 7.15-7.15.

I spent that day holding mum upright wherever we had to go, for whatever legal papers we had to gather. Some legal places didn't let us both in, and so mum would stumble in and start crying hysterically. It's amazing how heartless bureaucracy is...

As of today I can't really grasp the fact I'm visiting my father's grave. That the man who was there for 30 years of my life is gone, and will never ever come back again.

And it wrecks my heart that this, funeral, is TOO a business and requires money. A lot of money.

Just in case someone who reads this feels generous: funeral expenses
