Description
Start stepping, kicking knees, linking elbows, and flapping like birdies! I've officially made my OC Terrance a big fan of Dick Van Dyke. On account that Terrance is a great dancer, loves movies, and being flexible (and of course watching the tribute of "Step in Time" from the ABC Disneyland 60 show), I've imagined Terrance wanting so badly to take up his own dream in dancing with his favorite actor. I even thought of the idea of Terrance being the one who composed the dance to go with the performance for ABC and then replace Derek Hough into taking the lead dancer after Derek accidentally sprains his ankle right before the performance. Intense, huh? ^^ Terrance has grown to love Mary Poppins for both the "Jolly Holiday" and the "Step in Time" dance and song sequences. Why else would he dress up as a chimney sweeper covered in soot? XD And I'll bet Dick would still look as good in his Jolly Holiday outfit as he did in 1964.
It took me a while to figure out what dancing pose would work best in the picture. I've referenced a lot of pictures of Dick Van Dyke to find the perfect fitting. This is also the first I'm drawing Dick Van Dyke. I did as best as I could to get his features right.
The background is something new I wanted to try out; a line art with no color. I'll bet you guys won't have a hard time guessing who else is in the background. XD
Terrance has also finally been given a full name for himself: Terrance Quinn 'Teraquin' John Renalds. I've decided to make his original name be Teraquin because of this idea I had for a while. I don't know where the "Renalds" name came from, but I thought it seemed right for him.
I hope you guys enjoy what you see here. I certainly had a fun time drawing it.
