Description
"Rianne Felthorne blinked at the stone cavern she'd discovered, still holding the extraordinary ruby she'd found embedded in the dirt of one corner. It was an incredible windfall, and she didn't know why looking at the ruby made her feel so sad, like she'd forgotten something, something that had been precious to her."
Just a quick something I had to take out of my mind (at 4 AM lol). This is inspired by chapter 77 of the fanfiction Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. It is AWESOME and everyone should read it! The last chapter moved me, so I had to draw this! It's a pity I don't have a scaner or illustrator or anything...sigh. But yeah.

Wow, someone drew Rianne! That's great! This was a sweet, sad chapter. I don't usually feel bad for either fanon or canon Snape, but this one got to me. He's just so...stuck.
Rianne is very interesting for someone who seems to have just a minor, passing role in HPMOR. A few reviews mentioned that she seemed like a young counterpart to Snape in that she, too, had a tendency to let indecision and regret mire her in place and perhaps her epiphanies during this chapter would change that tendency (or, since she lost the memory, it sadly wouldn't have any effect at all and she could end up with similar personal problems as Snape...though pssshht how's anyone else going to have that particular mess of problems)
