Ophelia Cosplay by WiseGirl15 Ophelia Cosplay by WiseGirl15
My class throws an annual costume ball and this year's theme was a Shakespearean masquerade. We were all required to attend dressed up as a character from one of Shakespeare's plays. I chose Ophelia from Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. The dress was inspired by John William Waterhouse's Ophelia painted in 1894. My mom and I made the dress in 5 days. It's made out of gold and pale green satin. Let me just say that my mother is AMAZING. I could not have done it without her. It was a lot work but the dress turned out great! My dress ended winning first place in the costume competition. The ball was a night to remember!

I found the pattern for the dress from the blog of an amazing costume designer. Her recreation of the Waterhouse dress really helped and inspired me. Her dress is SO beautiful! Please check out her blog here: charmedseed.net/index.php?s=op…
