In the past few years, I've been especially wary about resolutions to further pursue my art, to improve both quality and quantity, as I always end up leaving it for long periods of time. But I'm hoping to change that year. I feel that I've made serious improvements towards learning in the past few weeks than I have in a year, so I feel devoting myself can only mean well. So here's to perseverance!
Wow! It's already been a week since I moved into my dorm in University of California Riverside. I feared I wouldn't have time to work on my art, but now that my markers and my desktop is here, I feel that a few minutes of my spare time never hurt. So I'll keep pumping out art, just for the sake of art!
I haven't updated my journal in two years for several reasons, the most prominent being that I was too lazy to do so. The other reason was that my mantra of constantly learning and improving in my art has remained relevant ever since. The only difference today being that this progress update is simply a benchmark to say that I have improved, so why stop?
My reasons for updating now is that I feel that my low viewership isn't solely a result of not having the best pictures imaginable, but my lack of involvement in the art community. How can one expect to find companionship with a community he or she distances his or herself from.
