About 2 years ago I went to the DMA for 150th time out of sheer boredom but that time Pollock's work got my attention for the very first time. On the way back home I stopped at the nearby Wallmart and got the cheapest paint possible and a canvas. My very first work, Pollock, is what came out that day. Abstract painting became more than a hobby for me. I think I live whole new life when I paint. I go through the whole specter of emotions beginning from the fear when I see a blank canvas and it already seems to be a work of art ![]() I'm not particularly interested in form, light, and definite shapes, at least for now - anything definite limits my imagination. Maybe for this reason even in photography I prefer abstract. But I have to say I love portraits either painted or photo-portraits... Color and texture excite me way more, as I can express not what I see but what I feel... Emotionally I live in sub-tropics, therefore I prefer to use bold and bright colors. Funny, but since my early childhood I saw numbers in colors, such as 1 is very dark green, 2 is white, 6 is yellow, and so on. Sometimes I see people in colors too... I usually start working having a certain idea in my head, but then as I paint I see something else, and just follow the paint. In this sense, I often think that my paintings paint themselves ![]() ![]() Thank you for browsing my work and leaving comments - your insight means a lot to me!
