Oh noes, fallen behind on inktober!
So I've been doing Inktober (with a norse mythology theme) but I haven't been posting my inked drawings. I made the mistake of joining an inktober facebook group...aaaiiy aiiiuy aiiiiy!

The drama was on from the first day, the very first prompt, poisonous. You see a lot of people decided to draw snakes which yes are venomous not poisonous but ffs, this is an art prompt not a precise specification. It is supposed to get you around the "what do I draw" by prompting ideas if you don't have ideas, and if you do have fixed ideas it is to throw you out of them a little. That's all. If you see the prompt "tranquil" for example and suddenly think "well whelp, all my drawings are tranquil, let's draw a battle" then great, the prompt has done its job.

Not helped at all by the fact I'd chosen to draw a snake... an ickle baby Jormangandur at his mother's house, dripping venom into a bottle. You see in Old Norse, venom and poison and festering anger and pus are all called the same thing... EITR. I felt 100% justified going in that direction on the prompt but well who wants to deal with assholes? So I didn't post it. And if you haven't posted day 1, why post day 2? Etc.

By the time I felt like posting I had seven or so pictures drawn  and had come to the conclusion I should finish the challenge then post all the pictures in the order in which they occur in Norse myth. Post them here, that is. Not on facebook. Because facebook is... EITR.
Still busy and stressed but so many art ideas on the way... I've been writing them down and when things are calmer I will paint and draw and it will be glorious. I want to do an ink and wash cartoon of Sir Thomas Playford… all dressed up in tuxedo and bow tie, dancing with Jay Weatherill… who is all dressed up up in a ball gown. Tom would be "dipping" Jay and the caption would be "Oh Tom, don't let me fall while I nationalize."

This idea brought to you by the current state Premier Jay embarking on a minor electricity nationalization that slightly mirrors Tom's major electricity nationalization efforts of the forties and fifties.

Well I think it is funny even if no-one else I have described it to does. Sniff.

Alas it will probably look like a dog's breakfast because my skill with caricature currently fail to do justice to my ideas. And with that I leave you with a relevant song.

Sometimes I draw things and sometimes I paint things. I've never put much time or effort in to developing my skills. Just for fun, right? I spent decades years thinking "someone should draw..." multiple times a day, and finally I decided I was someone too despite my lack of natural aptitude.

I don't do commissions as such, but if you would like me to attempt to draw/paint something feel free to speak up and I might do so if the idea interests me... and then if you still want to tip me after seeing the work (5 points sounds like a nice tip... I'm cheap and like I said, I only do work I want to do for itself) I'd be fine with that and grateful. But really I'm not going to be doing any art unless I'd be happy with just making the attempt whether or not I get paid. I'm not ready to make this all serious business.

Also, I collect pictures of Yrthaks... not anthro ones, just the ones like in D&D. So if you've drawn or painted a picture of an Yrthak, let me know.
