Stranded by windfalcon Stranded by windfalcon
Too long this tether holds me, bound by a spider's slender strength. It twists, tightens, binds and pulls, breaking my feathers, that mocking thread!

I am lost. I cannot find a home, cannot even wander as falcons are born to do. Others fly in far-off lands - they do not even know the breath of freedom that fills their lungs over and over. The Spider that binds me here, she tells me that I am free, that I should thank her for her web. But her web covers the land, masking the beauty beneath. I wish only to fly across the sea again, and see a land unmarred by those binding strands.

I pull again in vain, and plea in silence - let me leave this island!

Allegory to the responsibilities of living in a modern society? Nice!

Sorry, falcon, it's still better for everyone if you stop messing around and go back to work. Loss of productivity won't do the economy nor the general society any good; an altruistic and persistent worker is what everyone needs, I'm sure your spider boss will agree. Emigration won't do you any good either; just stay put and get back to work because there ain't nothing you can do about it.
- the unfortunate true story

While the spider boss doesn't realize that by abusing its worker in way of time, money and mental well-being, it's actually losing productivity and quality of work, as well as contributing to the poor economy and influx of health problems.

This is so beautiful...the story is also something I think a lot of us feel, at one time or another.
 Fabulous work!

This is beautiful, and the story with it is heartbreaking! She reminds me of the falcon from "Radiance," although perhaps it's just the designs on her wings...did you intend there to be a connection? Stunning piece. :)

How symbolic, especially since I HATE spiders... OMG... That poor bird.

It sounds,- and looks like the falcon is speaking about her falconer... I am a falconer myself, and I often feels regret for keeping my falcon on a tether, but when she flies, she always takes my breath away. This is a beautiful peice <3

But a falconer lets his or her bird fly (and many release their birds eventually). This falcon is being bound by something that's hurting her :(

Very true... and I know that some falconers do not treat their birds with the proper respect... I have known a few of these such falconers... But your decription does seem something more hurtful.

And as I said before, lovely piece, I love the meaning and all the detail!

I think she is like Rapunzel in Tangled. without freedom, but not hurt...only missing some of the best things in life.
