guess i got to agree, that this is weaker than the previous editions. as you know my preference, the reason for this is not the lack of tech presets but also of style. the best preset in this pack (and probably this year) has got to be apple to my eye, baaaaaad bwoy. all stuff carrying the name of tuggummi (remix and original) and the convicts are the only other presets i enjoyed. the naming scheme of the remixes is very confusing, got to change that in future.

The presets I liked the most:
Denkensiefursich - The Convicts: Nice colors!
Tuggummi - Viscous Reloaded (Inverted Mix): Dreamy! :D
Tuggummi - Skybeam Disco (Neon Spray Mix): Like the particles, the presets feels a bit empty though (the original feels even emptier - sorry ^..^ :/)

Overall not my cup of tea. There were no real highlights for me, since I'm neither an art fan nor a style addict. However this definitively is good work - well done, guys!

i'll join the trend and make a preset-by-preset comment ok?

:greenbullet: intro
nice oldschool feel, but the background is just ugly

:greenbullet: bochner
*cough* FPS *cough* i couldn't make out too much of this preset because i get amazingly low FPS rates. that 3d building thingy looks good tho.

:greenbullet: guggenheim
c'mon. i know i'm known for making slow, effect overloaded presets, but this one can't be forgiven. 7,5 FPS.... ok i turned pixel doubling on and i think i can see what the preset's about and it's a good idea, but please optimise it next time...these presets only made my winamp freeze.

:greenbullet: splash
great work danken! pretty simple but it's magic :) i can stare at this for a looooong time :)

:greenbullet: convicts
ooh, i like the XOR touch :) just like splash this one is fairly simple, but damn it's good...looking forward to your pack!

:greenbullet: inferno
too messy... i dont like the use of XOR here, the scope is nice, but it's more of a show-off than a real preset

:greenbullet: viscous reloaded
way better :) nice in fullscreen

:greenbullet: apple to my eye
 great idea,great preset

:greenbullet: my new kickin floor
oh yes, some old school floor goodness :) the texture is really good and that's all that matters

:greenbullet: reinventing the wheel
tug standard, nice reaction, lot's o' texers, smooth and clean.

:greenbullet: optical revisited
this might be my fav wotl preset so far, the coloring is great, the DM could handle a bit more than 32x32,but i can fix that ;)

:greenbullet: ozone layer
ooops correction : i like this one more :). not really reactive, but i couldn't care less about that :) really nice for chilling out

:greenbullet: skybeam disco
bit too disco for my taste

:greenbullet: soundspectroscopy
 another one of these not really complicated, but completely mesmerizing presets :)

now on for the remixes :

:greenbullet: beenies remix

:greenbullet: inferno remix
one of my favs from this pack, the coloring is fab and the background is great too

:greenbullet: ozone layer remix
well FPS is better compared to guggenheim, but it's still not enough for me to truly enjoy the preset. the idea is good tho.

:redbullet: convection conviction
oh man. these colors butcher the preset :(

:greenbullet: optical illusion remix
 nice and tricky (and again the DM could use a higher gridsize)

:greenbullet: viscous reloaded remix (by tug)
good one,really clean and smooth

:greenbullet: skybeam disco remix
a bit animeish, but cool :)

summary : a nice collection from new or not-that-well-known AVSers.
dankensiefursich and wotl are definetly improving  they brought the best stuff for this pack IMO
^..^ and MrNudge still make very nice presets and this stevenroy guy is talented too (just forget that danken remix ;) ) boktor will be ok, he just seriously needs to explore the wonderful world of optimising (if anyone brings up my stuff, keep in mind that my presets still dont kill winamp (and yes i know my comp sucks, but anyway))
and tug is well..tug. always good to see new stuff from him.

Very fun mix of presets, especially considering these are artists I hardly know about outside my DA world. I was really impressed with the work of Steven Roy and Boktor, although both artists have got to clean up their presets before I can really enjoy them. I think Bochner nearly crashes my comp every time I load it up. If anything, it would have been nice for Tugg to sit this one, because his work is so polished, it overshadows the presets made by everyone else. I like the diversity in the originals, but I didn't feel like the remixes were that great. But then again, packs like this are always fun to shuffle through and look at how a group works off each other. Well done to everyone involved!

And here i was thinking my presets were the worst of the pack, silly me. To be frank i don't like the original i made for this at all and since you said you don't care for remixes... that leaves me nothing, so basicly i did sit out this one =p

I'm going to agree with Tugg somewhat on the pack balance, overall I think its a little more consistent without the "bigger names" in the mix, having said that Tugg's presets to me are still noticably the best. Anyway (hmm, i can probably copy paste tuggs formatting for this) ...

:bulletgreen: Intro
The text effect is interesting and well executed but geh, that background is awful

:bulletgreen: Boktor - Bochner
The preset is very nice, but all that text junk is just destracting for a visualisation preset

:bulletgreen: Boktor - Guggenheim
Very nice, a lot of variety so it is good for prolonged watchings, it is a little slow tho

:bulletgreen: Denkensiefursich - Splash
That mosaic effect ruins it a bit for me, without it its cool with the right music

:bulletgreen: Denkensiefursich - The Convicts
smooth, pretty, solid preset.

:bulletgreen: Mr Nudge - Inferno
yellow and blue, argh. I like the model and idea tho

:bulletgreen: Mr Nudge - Viscous Reloaded
It looks a bit like you didnt know what to do so you just threw some effects together, I dont really think enough thought went into the design.

:bulletgreen: StevenRoy - Apple To My Eye
I love the idea and its well executed. The patterns it forms could be a little more interesting but its still very nice (btw Frame rate limiter? why?!)

:bulletgreen: StevenRoy - My New Kickin Floor (RB)
hrm, wall presets are a bit yawny, good music response tho

:bulletgreen: Reinventing the Wheel
mmmmm, shading. General asthetic construction is great, it would be nice if the ring was a bit more responsive tho

:bulletgreen: Wotl - Optical Revisited
bit of a blobby mess :/

:bulletgreen: Wotl - Ozone Layer 2142
ok, needs colour refinement imo

:bulletgreen: ^..^ - Skybeam Disco
Its zoomed lines and blobs with a gradiant. er... yea

:bulletgreen: ^..^ - Soundspectroscopy v1.2
This is coolness, I cant be arsed reading your processing code but it produces a nice music response effect. One of my favs in the pack

Remix highlights:

:bulletgreen: Boktor remix of MrNudge - Viscous Reloaded
just cool

:bulletgreen: Tuggummi - MrNudge - Viscous Reloaded (inverted mix)
Lovely n' sparkly :) a fav

:bulletgreen: Tuggummi - New beanies mix
arrrrr teh pwn, style is PERFECT

Overall: Pretty solid pack, good word guys

:excited:

Finally!
Even though some of the "bigger names" left out, i was still looking really forward to this compilation, they have so far been fun & various packs and this one is no exception. Maybe not up to par with the previous one (mostly because of jetwash :censored: :shakefist:), but a great pack none the less! Actually i think the overall quality is way more balanced this time around, which is good :greetings:

Personally i couldn't provide but one original and even that doesn't seem so good now and i feel sorry for the poor bastard(s) who got it in the remix lottery =p Im not surprised at all that nobody mixed it.

But now id like to enlist all the presets and write a few words about them, i shall start...

:bulletgreen: Intro
Yes, that is quite a trick there! I don't even want to know how you pulled that off, i think my head would explode... Also i love the old-school demo style! Great work Steven

:bulletgreen: Boktor - Bochner
Well im not familiar with Bochner's art (not much of an art person either...), the preset is nice, but so incredibly slow! I get 8.5fps which is well beyond enjoyable nowadays imo.

:bulletgreen: Boktor - Guggenheim
Same problem as with Bochner, just too slow to be really enjoyable, shame though, it's a good preset otherwise.

:bulletgreen: Denkensiefursich - Splash
A good flow preset in quite a while, the colors are awesome and the effects look great, a bit empty at times though or maybe i should just play louder music? Yeah, that fixed it ;) One of my favourites in this pack.

:bulletgreen: Denkensiefursich - The Convicts
Funny, just a hour or so ago i commented on your desktop that showed this preset :) Even though the dm isn't that "spectacular", the effects and colors cover that up nicely. Solid one.

:bulletgreen: Mr Nudge - Inferno
I got this in the remix-roullette, but i didn't feel like remixing it. The preset seems nothing else than the fancy scope (which is the same mistake i made :() and the effects just aren't my taste. Not my cup-o-tea.

:bulletgreen: Mr Nudge - Viscous Reloaded
It's a nice good idea, but needs a bit more polishing in my opinion and the spectrum seems out of place here, i think it has sufficient music reaction even without the spectrum.

:bulletgreen: StevenRoy - Apple To My Eye
Haha, again with the demo effects :D It's quite cool i must admit! But why the framerate limiter? Can't "oldschool" presets run fast? ;)

:bulletgreen: StevenRoy - My New Kickin Floor (RB)
Damn it, i wish i had those 3D-goggles :) But hey, nice preset, i like the pattern and im sure it's even more fun with the goggles.

:bulletgreen: Wotl - Optical Revisited
Nope, don't remember, sorry. But this preset is good, im guessing you did a lot of fps-boosting in this version?

:bulletgreen: Wotl - Ozone Layer 2142
A good original one, personally i could go without the mosaic and have the buffer save 2 at 50/50. Certainly, one of the better presets you've lately produced Wotl :)

:bulletgreen: ^..^ - Skybeam Disco
I love this one and i was very lucky to get it in the remix lottery :) Even though i mixed it, i still like this original version better.

:bulletgreen: ^..^ - Soundspectroscopy v1.2
Analyzer mania :) Good one for it's great response and the design isn't half-bad either!

So those were the originals, but what would this pack be without the remixes! Not a very community-y pack indeed =p The remixes i liked the most include...

:bulletred: Boktor -MrNudge - Inferno ('electroncloud9')
A good remix with some good effects and the framerate is decent enough now Boktor =p

:bulletgreen: Boktor - Wotl - Ozone Layer 2142 ('BPO')
I like how the framing changes a bit and the colors are good too. A bit flickering preset at times, but nothing to worry too much about.

:bulletgreen: Wotl - Boktor - Conceptual
Ultra Fast when compared :D I quite like the edges.

:bulletgreen: Wotl - StevenRoy - My Old Kitchen Floor
Makes me wanna draw on the floor too  It's okay to be silly sometimes, even if you're an "adult", just as long nobody's watching ;)

Great job fellas! As i said, i'll say again: This i think is the most balanced pack yet, whether or not that's a good thing is up to the viewers i guess, i like it, i like it so much i'll add it to my favourites!
