"I never meant to hurt you..."

I've always wondered what Edward would look like if someone ever flipped him over.
I started this last Friday night- or rather Saturday morning at 2am. Exactly what was going through my head, I'm not quite sure, but it was one of those reeeally late night inspiration blasts. I was feeling a just a tad emotional. Heh, can't you tell? So I was listening to the song by Morrissey called "Late Night, Maudlin Street" and this one line made me think of Edward and his guilt for what he did to his family... and well, this came out.
For those of you who don't know the story, Edward Monwell was a living doll created in the early 1800s, and was the husband/father of a 5-piece set. They were, to put it simply, a perfect family. Then one day their creator tried to teach them reality... and they didn't take it very well. It resulted in a horrible misunderstanding and his creator pushed him out a 3-story window, and shortly after his creator committed suicide.
Such a cheery tale, isn't it? Anyways, I'm really proud of this, it broke my heart to draw but I had to finish it. I hope you like it. Please click download to see it in its full size.
