HLLV Command Module extracts the payload carrier frame from the throwaway aero shell. The payload aero shell will be disposed of once the vehicles have separated to a safe distance.

(HLLV: common abbreviation for Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle.)

The nuclear booster stage (image Right) is unmanned; its autonomous flight control system flies station-keeping on the command module during the freight and passenger transfer operation. When the transfer operation is completed the Command Module will dock with the nuclear stage for re-entry.
