HLLV Command Module extracts the payload carrier frame from the throwaway aero shell. The payload aero shell will be disposed of once the vehicles have separated to a safe distance.

(HLLV: common abbreviation for Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle.)

The nuclear booster stage (image Right) is unmanned; its autonomous flight control system flies station-keeping on the command module during the freight and passenger transfer operation. When the transfer operation is completed the Command Module will dock with the nuclear stage for re-entry.

Image is part of a future historical setting; see my journal entry Orion’s Arm Future History, A Synopsis.

Hey. I must say this is one of my all time favourite renders. If i may request something it would be really cool if you could make a side view diagram of the different components like you did with the newest nuclear pulse propulsion vehicle and some of the other spacecraft on renderosity. Also it would be nice with a full resolution download:-)

Full resolution downloads now available. Art is priced between $5.00 and $15.00, with periodic sale prices as low as $5.00. See my profile page for details.

I offer concept art services (recently I've completed projects for several commercial customers). With my transition to Blender, I will soon be offering 3D models, moderately priced pieces and parts for kit-bashing and slightly higher priced complete spacecraft. Look for an announcement of services, prices, and an upcoming Patreon campaign sometime next month.
