I had to do some serious googling to get that reference, but yeah, I guess it would work there. I'd never heard of Jacqueline Carey before. Would you recommend her books?
Hell yes I would. They're incredibly well-written historical fantasy with a huge dose of smut. She mixes real-world history and mythology and her research into both is insanely detailed.

Some of her covers look a bit risque, I wonder if I'd find them under Romance or Sci Fi/Fantasy? I'm working my way through a nerdy murder mystery right now, but I might give them a try. The idea of an inverted Lord of the Rings told from the side of the bad guys sounds interesting.
I found her in the scifi/fantasy section, though she could easily be in romance/smut.
The Sundering Duology is a nice take on Tolkien, too.
