as some of you may have noticed, a few days ago I went and deactivated my account. deactivating both my dA and twitter accounts specifically, in fact. just, kinda out of nowhere.
I will explain thusly; interacting with this website, or more specifically, the way I interacted with this website, ended up making me feel miserable. In the same way as your typical social media addiction would -- numbers go up, neurons activate, and then it becomes a well, an addiction. And like all addictions, it just gets more and more difficult to get your fix as your brain chemicals "get used" to certain amounts and move the goalpost for "how much" is enough.
Interacting with dA in that way, well, I don't really have to say that it's not healthy. Sure it feels nice to have these nice peaks of euphoria when something I post really clicks with people -- but between every peak, there are valleys. Valleys of not getting that hit of dopamine, making my brain wonder when it's getting the next one. My brain
