While we're on the roll, I'd like to go on -
I recall watching some series that Bones was to be a lead-in, something about The Pattern. Mysterious events , a cow in a laboratory, a paroled scientist and his weird machines that extracted clues, and finally the series got bogged in some parallel earth. Turned out that the hero's son is NOT his son, but, rather that of a parallel counterpart to the man who raised him, kidnapped and brought to earth-1. I dunno. I gave this series 3 chances and then I dumped it for good. Don't care about it anymore. FOX kept  playing this - game.
I am not alienated by parallel earth stories, did some myself. It's the heavy-handed approach that turned me off.

I also never watched LOST. Somehow the trailer turned me off. Seemed to be the TWIN PEAKS of scifi.
I walked away from ALL FOX's animated cartoon shows: Simpsons ,Family Guy (heavy with veiled obscenity*), Ameroican Dad **, Bob's Burgers, etc..... all fouled and tainted ,actually or potentially. Futurama was awkwardly avante-garde, but Fox kept pre-empting it until it lost its audience.

I gravitated towards British sitcoms .

* Having clicked on SPACEGHETTO or  UNKNOWN HIGHWAY (its predecessor),I kept hearing the same obscenity on my laptop speaker (Go ---- yourself. Go ----yourself . Go ...).The site soon had a policy that  forbade audios that ran unsolicited like that. I tracked it down. It was Dick Cheney as a supermarket greeter addressing all the shoppers with that obscenity. They  looked outraged. Video clip from FAMILY GUY.

** I never tuned into American Dad, seeing it  as tainted and fouled by Family Guy, through having the same creative team. It did NOT surprise me that there was a big flap over an episode which implied sex with a horse !

Don't think there's any connection and the series you talk about must be The Fringe. Fringe Division by Wicked-Illusion
I quite liked that show and glad they ended it with, was it season 4?, before it got even worse. The show was very interesting and some parts of the plot were pretty great, but things started going downhill in later season(s). There were some stuff that annoyed me in the show, that weren't that good, but the show stays in a great memory and I'm glad I watched it. I loved Joshua Jackson in it especially (I never really watched Dawson's Creek so I wasn't already a fan of him). Anyway, in that show they did something rather brave and took a great risk and made the last season's plot happening in entirely different world (still planet Earth)

You haven't seen nearly enough of the show to know about all misc. plot parts, enough of the parallel Earth and all is characters and the connection of cause and consequence in both universes, how some other things connect, a whole bunch of stuff you might have liked if the show didn't turn you off so soon. But I get it, all these crazy things aren't everyone's cup of tea. There was bunch of stuff I didn't like too much either, but pros largely beat the cons for me.

I never watched Lost either! And it was such a popular and supposedly great? show. I considered it, but I know how it ends and how shocking it was for the fans to find out..., so I'm not sure so many seasons are worth it. I watched a few minutes here and there many years ago and, obviously didn't have a clue what the hell was going on, especially as I didn't know there was sci-fi in it too, so that was additionally confusing. I also saw some of the greatest scenes later on Web.

I'm not interested and don't like either of the animated shows you mentioned. I only ever watched a bit of Simpsons here and there, don't think I watched more than 3h max. in total of the whole show.
