The light and shadows create just the right difference to offset the symmetry. Artistic!
Great job on lighting too. Liking the gradation. As well as the underwear choice, either intentional or not, worked really well.
(this girl here wishes someone would do some wonderful male nudes but I doubt it will ever happen - although judging from your pic you could use your ownself as a model - nothing funny. It's just that as much as I like female nudes I like male nudes, being a chick and all - ok stopping now)
I worry that I may not be able to phrase to my fiance, "Hey, I'm going to start doing nude work of myself and sticking it on DA. Yea, some girl thought it would be a good idea." :-P I appreciate the compliment though.
Out of curiosity, what sort would you be interested in though? Like, I've done a little way back that had artfully placed shadows and such. I just don't think my brain is capable of figuring out to to artfully place a penis.
As an artist I love to use the nude body in my original work but it can be really difficult to find quality male nudes. You know, I have to laugh, but it's that whole idea that the penis is something that needs to be 'hidden' in art that I find odd. Not that it has to be showcased or anything (lol) but it certainly isn't any more offensive than the female equivalent.
Generally, the kind of male nudes I like to work with show off the broad planes and musculature of the male body with perhaps a hint of the 'equiptment' without necessarily making that the focus. Like someone saying "this is me. I am not defined by my dick but it is a part of who I am."
I don't know if this makes any sense or not and sorry if I'm rambling. It can just be frustrating being a woman artist and being so restricted in the way of male models. I mean, men don't have this problem at all, there are so many female models. To tell the truth, I would think if your fiance was open minded enough to be fine with your shooting nude women, that she wouldn't have a huge problem with you taking some pictures of yourself or a friend.

I may not be the ideal model for your work :-P Many years ago I played sports and took martial arts and had an amount of what you might call 'strength.' Working in a lab is a bit different though and these days the closest thing I get to excersize is chasing a bus.
