Serafina had inherited the ancient, dusty manor from a grandfather she never knew she had. Now, in the midst of unpacking, she hears a loud crash from upstairs that makes her jump. Lighting the three-prongs of her candle-holder, she steels herself with a heavy breath, then proceeds cautiously up the stairs. Dust thicker than she has ever known rises up in great smoky clouds with each step. Each flight creaks and groans as though in a language all their own.
Entering the drawing room, Serafina then takes a look around, trembling from the roots of her hair down to the tips of her toes. It's as though her heart stops beating as she surveys the room from shadowy corner to shadowy corner. Seeing nothing, and with a gulp, she crosses to the window, looking out at the grounds. All is peaceful and silent. The appearance of tall pine trees soothes her nerves, their bountiful green entwined with the blue of the night sky.
There's a full moon out tonight as well. Serafina smiles at it, then remembers the crashing noise that had lead her up here in the first place. A sharp stab of terror in her heart has her turning around, but thankfully there's no one in the room with her. Admonishing herself for leaving her back turned, she heads back to the door.
Just then, a sudden gust of wind sends the drapes fluttering towards her and all about. Serafina whirls, the candle-flames flickering dangerously. What she sees has her narrowing her eyes shrewdly. A glimpse of something flying before the moon, out of sight. The ghost of her recently-deceased grandfather. But no, how could it be?
She shakes her head and leaves the room to continue her investigation.
As all your awesome arts, this one is also so incredible! Love your painting skills, imagination and stories you tell us, my dearest friend The girl seems to be going out of the darkness with that light. It can appear that the girl was facing many problems and difficulties in life; she was dwelling into the dark, but now she is turning into the light and trying to show that we can be happy only when we are lighted, when we can dance in the moonlight, in the sunshine, in the love and positive emotions... And hate, anger are all dwellers of darkness and we won't be happy if we let these emotions wash us... Your art as always has so much soul, is so powerful and beautifully done. Love the fog and all the fabrics, love how you painted on them and on the girl. You are a true artist, my dear Hazel, who I admire so much
