This was one of my first macro photos. I had been interested in macro photography before, but I never had a camera that let me get this close.

This made it as the Picture Of The Day at Steve's Digicams (Steve's Digicam POTD May 1999).

Taken with a Nikon Coolpix 950.

That is an awesome spider. Was it alive when you took the photo? An amazing and beautiful photo by the way. :D

Thanks. Yes. It was very alive. I was cleaning out a garden area and flipped over a big blue bin and it was clinging to the bottom. I was lucky to have the camera with me.

If i had seen that, unexpectedly like you did, I would be more concerned with finding clean shorts. Pretty awesome. Is "Hunstman" the type of spider or your own creativity? Do you know what kind it is?

I wish that was my creativity :). He did kind of look like he was hunting something. The huntsman is the type it is - it is a type of crab spider. We have them all around here. They like to pop up when least expected.
