My goodness, I just landed second place in the Unclog The Artist Competition. You can see the full results at: news.deviantart.com/article/10… at your convenience. I'm really excited on this one, as the contest was geared towards getting other people back into artwork.

WDVMM - 0026 - Hillcrest by wetdryvac

The picture in question is being sold in print form on DA, and with many more options from: www.wetdryvac.net/store/WDVMM/…

Placing commissions back on the table for March as well: Three month premium membership gets you a commissioned WDV or WDVMM, delivered digitally. Be aware: This means you'd have the image delivered as a 3MB+ JPG or a 25-60MB TIFF. Commissions for cash are negotiable, but start around $50 for digital, and change depending upon specials at the printer for physical. Usually you can expect to pay around $75-$150 for a matte print at 23x31 on high quality UV resistant archival paper, and framing will run significantly more.

I always suggest that you find a local framer, as they're probably going to save money.

Commissions Rates

Commissions are now at two slots and have some opening rules: 1) I do correctly cited vector rebuilds of out of copyright works. These show up here on DA. 2) I do correctly cited archival prints of out of copyright works where I scan or photograph the original material and create the best print I can from that. These do not show up on DA, other than as part of the occasional promotional poster. 3) I do not re-paint, rebuild, or re-draw anything that's under copyright - US version - without written consent from the artist or their estate, and when I do, that too is correctly cited. 4) I do not use AI for the creation of artwork in any stage of the process. Most of what I'm open for is original artwork, but if you want a portrait from a photo, or a map piece, I will consider it if it's got the correct permissions attached. * * * I work in found materials for most of what I do, which means originals almost never use acid free/archival materials. This is mostly personal preference due

Well, Eclipse now is WAY worse than the beta

May 20, 2020
No browsing by categories, no easy access to stash, everything huge and lick-me-sized without actual functionality. Way to completely bugger the site, alienate members, and render pretty much everything an utter disaster. I still have followers here so I'll post when I don't mind going blind, but... yeah. This is not OK, and I'll be over on Artstation and a few other places instead, mostly. Good luck.

Devious Journal Entry

May 12, 2020
With Eclipse no longer being opt-out, and also being a major step down in terms of usability, presentation, options, and ability to use with disabilities, I'm no longer using Deviant Art as my main Presence. I'll still probably post from time to time, but the majority of my projects will be served better on a site that doesn't ignore its users and roll out style over function. Given the amount of feedback DA has received over time decrying eclipse, I find the folks claiming betrayal of user base don't seem to be wrong. I'm not out - there's always the chance that DA might get its act together and listen to its user base - but I'm also not ...
