It Takes a Breath
the world comes apart. slowly. tendon by tendon, vein by vein. strings tearing up, to drip with pallid blood. eaten by the delicious malady; sweet taste of rot, a scent of decomposing flesh.
the world comes to an end, bathing in the toxic waste, which paints its body with red and yellow, with green and blue - colors masking the black void. it seeps through the gashes in reality, a hole in the universe, pressing life with the gravity of pain.
the world had enough. tired of biting through the mass of bodies, to reach the core filled with emerald. branches crack under the pressure, forests whisper curses and ancient spells.
the sun turns crimson, an enormous orb taking up the sky, a rageful color of the end, its warmth faint like the touch of a judging feather, weighed by Anpu in the midst of cracked clocks and buried buildings - deep under the sand.
the world takes a breath.
and exhales darkness.
to never allow it to taint its spine.
who cares if we drown in it?
