I feel, like so many of us, that I've lost a friend and a family member. His character, Andy Taylor, really epitomized, all of the finest traits that we look for in a friend and strive to find within ourselves. He was tolerant, supportive, considerate, fair, and friendly. As he indicated during interviews, the show was filmed in the 60's but it was a place more like one might've found in the 30's. All of the characters felt love for each other and so did the actors portraying them. The show was actually an escape during that turbulent decade of social issues, war, and cultural revolution. I understand that, despite moving to color (which much of the cast felt didn't suit the program) and the loss of some of their funniest characters [Don Knotts left the show, and Jim Nabors got the spin off, GOMER PYLE, USMC, and Howard McNear suffered a stroke, left the show, later returned in a smaller capacity--usually seated), THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW ended its run in the top of the ratings. Andy Griffith was a genuine humorist but played the "straight man" very adeptly for all of the other zany characters on the show. He was also a capable actor--just view the movie, A FACE IN THE CROWD to appreciate this. NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS is one of my favorite comedy movies. He worked very hard and earned the success that he enjoyed with his series, MATLOCK. It stands on its own, but at least some of its success must be attributed to the public's great love of Andy Taylor and our continuing appreciation of Andy Griffith. I believe that the quote from Maya Angelou aptly describes the feeling of so very many of us, ""I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

I'm one of those who draw, color and sometimes write because I must. I enjoy books, television and movies of most genres. I like older music the most and only occasionally enjoy a contemporary tune. I play Guitar just well enough. I'm a panelologist (collector of comic books). They were my early and longest art inspiration. I think that those in my circle would say that I'm a raconteur. Humor is important to me and I appreciate limericks [the ornery ones tend to be the funniest].

westernman, hello I'm ANWAR1982, I just wanted 2 say I'm very, very sorry 4 keep bothering u 2 draw Sally Field's character she played in the very 1st ''Smokey & The Bandit'' movie where she rests her soles on the ''Trans-Am'' dash in her wedding clothes and I want u ask u 4 the very last time, if u get finished on doing other projects or some things like that, can u began work on the mentioned art and I will not return 2 your profile page here on ''DeviantArt'' 4 that kind of art again, I apologize 2 u sir:)!!

Your suggestion for a drawing of Sally and Burt in the Trans Am is something I may well create at some point.  I have several things that I'm interested/inspired to draw.  I just don't have the time/focus.  I haven't submitted any new art on this site in about a year.  I rarely even visit this site anymore.  It's likely that some other artist may produce a drawing such as you suggested before I manage to find the time. My art has been neglected and I miss it.

Hi Harold, I've just heard about Robin Williams just dies from a suicide earleir today, it's so sad that we left this funny man, have u heard about his suicide:(??

we'll sadly miss him and his laughs continue in his memory!!

OK, about Sally Field's ''Frog'' character posing her soles on the ''Trans-Am'' dashboard with ''Bandit'' driving from the very first ''Smokey and the Bandit'' movie, r u gonna continue focusing on the ''Frog'' soles pose on the dashboard work??
