Description
Fourh place with $2500 earnings
Not bad for a first race I think!
The stablehand unloaded Jaeger from the trailer. It had been a long trip for the horse, but his Cohan was hopeful that his training would make up for this being his first race. The stallion showed more promise than any other horse he had trained, and there really was something special about him. Jaeger looked around curiously, his long neck and slim ears darting around at the new sights and smells. Nervously, he nipped at Cohan's shoulder, and he pushed the big stallion away. The grey sulked, ears back.
He immediately began pawing at the snow under his feet, bending down to take a bite. He lifted his head with a snort and a shake, dancing from foot to foot, unsure of the odd substance. Jessica laughed quietly and patted the stallion on the shoulder.
"Could you take him to the vet check, Jessica?" Cohan asked, "we're already late."
"Sure," Jessica said with a smile, walking with the young stablehand/student to where the vet check station was on the map.
Cohan approached the mile, looking at the horses around the feild, trainers, jockeys and racegoers all talking to each other, planning. He looked at the track, leaning against the rails. It was still coated with snow, like the rest of the place. The morning sun was rising high, and Cohan hoped it would not prove to slippery for him- he had never run on snow.
