UPDATE: After a rather strong reply to my email the shoes in question have been removed from the store.

Today I came across something completely unexpected. A very kind deviant gave me a link to the FB page of a girl who also paints shoes. One of the pairs she has is strikingly similar to my Toy Story pair. I was surprised that someone would even bother to copy my shoes exactly, I'm sure there are a million possibilities and original ideas when it comes to painting a pair of shoes, but no, even the color of the planets are the same.
I know I have no right to complain that my 'design' was copied, they are not my original characters and I respect that entirely - which is why I don't sell them. This pair is up for sale on the girl's Etsy store which is what makes me upset. Not only is it illegal but, because the similarity of the shoes, I am worried that someone may mistake them for my own work.

I would like to say here and now that I do not sell shoes with another's characters on them nor do I in any way support or encourage it.

Making a profit from selling items big or small, bulk or not, is damaging to a company. Besides, why would you buy shoes like mine when you can get those cool Adidas ones anyway?!

In other news…
I saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D last week. For some unknown reason Disney has released BatB 3D at Hoyts in NZ for a limited time – perhaps a test run?
My god that film is beautiful. Beauty and the Beast has always been a film close to my heart, I know it sounds corny but it was released the year I was born so it is truly a tale as old as time for me! It sure is a film that can stand the test of time; A friend and fellow Disney fan went to one of the weekend showings and said it was a packed theatre. Mum and I were the only ones at our showing, but to be fair that was 10am on a Monday morning. In my opinion the 3D wasn't a necessity, as Cogsworth would say 'If it's not baroque don't fix it!" Occasionally it looked a bit like a pop up book, but hey, if that's what it takes to bring some of my favorite films back to the big screen so be it!

4 more weeks to go and I'll have finished class 2 of AM!!! Time sure flies!

I totally forgot to msg you about this but I went to see it B&B as well last Sunday!!
They did a really good job with making it 3D but I agree that it resembled a pop-up book in certain parts...would have preferred it if they'd just released it in good ole 2D.
But otherwise it was AWESOME!! I hope they release more old Disney films, this was the FIRST TIME I got to see Beauty and the Beast on the big screen. (first I ever saw on the big screen was Aladdin)

I hear the Lion King is being released in 3D at some point next year.
