I hope you had a wonderful christmas holiday ^_^
Mine is over, but I managed to relax a bit and calm down from all the pre-christmas madness. ...as well as come up with new plans and projects for 2019. The christmas market went very well, I sold most of my old stock. All the money I earned already went into buying "new old stock" (which, you know, is essential in millinery, since you hardly get the good vintage materials anymore! hehe!). And I still have some customer requests to finish until end of january.
One thing that this market (again) made very clear to me is, that most people really lost the understanding of craftmanship and the ability to connect the dots. Such as -made by hand, by me, in this country (not send halfway across the globe three times until it's finished), that I don't work without payment (would you?), excellent quality raw materials cost more than that cheap shit on Amazon but will last much longer instead...
I spare you the whole list but I could go on for hours. I don't get their logic. I think it's time we re-educate our customers, although it's tough and exhausting and hurts sometimes.
I think I'll make this my new years resolution for 2019.
And now for something positive: I come bearing new pics, which I will upload bit by bit during the next weeks! My Etsy shop is well stocked and up-to-date like never before! I finally embraced having a smartphone and am now really using it for business, not as an excuse when something is not working
Plus I already sold a couple products over at Etsy -so I'm really happy with all the work, the typing, tagging, etc... finally -finally!- taking flight.
To a healthy and successful 2019! ^_^
