An interesting article on William Shatner and his policy of declining autographs in public places. Part of me looks at the U.S. fan base as being behind his stance. Compare his experience with that of Gal Gadot in her native Israel.
I've read articles and interviews where she will ask fans to wait while she finishes. In one the interviewer walked with her to her house. He was amazed that people just walked by and at the most waved. Apparently she has not had the problem of people showing up all hours of the day and night.
And Shatner brings up another point, albeit not directly. All too often the autographed snagged at the airport ends up on E-bay within minutes. From my meager experience if one can have the autograph personalized the celeb knows it is not going to be sold.
