PLW Main Quest 2: Arson and Kidnapping
Morgana looked around the township. It was a quiet night, a time where everyone was at home, asleep. Perfect, there would be no witnesses, and nobody would notice the gasoline she'd splashed on the surrounding buildings. She turned to her companion.
"So, Violet. Tell me more about the mark you noticed patrolling the area."
With lithe movements and mostly silent footfalls, Violet trailed a little behind the Ninetales that Mewtwo himself assigned to her. She shifted uncomfortably. She wasn't used to working with others, especially not since the breakout with a Phione in tow. At least Morgana seemed just about as mature as she was.
"He's quite hard to miss," Violet answers, feigning her usual customer-service smile. "He's a Garchomp, but orange and fiery like a Charizard. I noticed when I first saw him that his arm has the Corruption. He would make for a most ideal recruit."
"A Garchomp, you say" said Morgana, a glint in her eye. "Not quite the strongest thing I've had to contain for

Failing to keep her mind on the pile of papers, Gemma looked around her new office, the one that had once been her mother's. It was laid out with oversized furniture, large enough to fit a Crustle. Gemma had considered switching it out for something more her own size, but something about that just felt wrong somehow. This was her mother's office...
Gemma mentally slapped herself. She couldn't spend all her time moping, she told herself. She owed it to herself and the guilds to keep things running. It was what her mother would have wanted...
But that thought brought the grief right back.
She couldn't help it. Everything she saw reminded her

ToT: The Battle of Tabira
Penelope glared at the map on the table. "It'd be nice if we had something to go on besides 'North'."
Prier had disappeared- again- and the Trackers' guild was dispatching teams to look for him. Teams Lancer and Guang had been among the first to sign up. They were among the best the guild had... and after the business in Darkhowl Woods, every one of them wanted a word with Prier. Some more than others; Penny glanced at David, whose hand was resting on his dagger's handle.
The Lucario had come to his own conclusions about why Prier had gone missing. His grudge against the Absol for working with Morgan had not abated in the slightest, and he

ToT Olympics: 100-meter sprint
As the whistle blew, David shot out from the starting line. He easily established a lead against the other runners, most of whom were trying to conserve their energy. A good idea in most cases, but pointless in a short sprint.
So why was the sprint seemingly taking forever? The track, which he was already halfway down, seemed to stretch on for miles, and the race that should have lasted a minute at most felt like it was taking hours.
He gradually became aware that his chest felt like it was burning. Breathing was getting difficult. It felt like...
Like right after getting caught in Gilgamarsh's dragonbreath.
David made it over the finish
"...but thwacking a ball around with a racket shouldn't be too hard, right?" said Addy.
Aveline held her racket ready, not really paying attention. Lin Lin examined the ball she was holding, and then served.
The ball soared out of the stadium.
"And the first point goes to Aveline!" said Addy. "You might want to ease up on the serving, Lin Lin."
Lin Lin looked a bit embarrassed.
Aveline held the ball and looked at her opponent. Lin Lin was standing towards the back of the court. Aveline tossed the ball in the air, and hit it just hard enough to make it over the net. Lin Lin wasn't able to reach it in time, and Aveline was awarded another

The reflecting pool had gotten very crowded over the course of the day. Fortunately, Aveline had gotten there early. The beach was milling with activity, but not nearly as many people were underwater.
The bottom of the lake was like the night sky. Implausibly so, considering that it was mid-afternoon and the lake was only about thirty meters deep. Aveline decided not to think too hard about it, because the effect was pretty spectacular. She just swam around the lake bed. Not thinking about her problems, about the circumstances that had driven her to Tabira...
And certainly not about the chaos likely unfolding in the Wonder Room at that very
The fighting had been going on for over half an hour now, and casualties were beginning to stream in to the medical camp. Fighters stumbled in- or were carried in- suffering all kinds of different injuries. Aveline had just finished reviving a Quilladin who’d had her heart stopped by Gilgamarsh’s Thunder attack, and now she was working on easing a few acid burns from the acidic water.
Cris walked over to her. “We’ve got another group of injured coming in.”
Aveline sighed. “How’s the battle going?”
“We’ve still got a lot of people out there, but Gilgamarsh is beginning to whittle t
