War is hell. The Glennish were assholes. This guy would really like to meet the genius who decided to put the two together.
Early in the war, Gryle's hometown Stormwood (medium-sized town a ways north of Rivercross Acres) basically got into the same situation as Glory's Peak did later (detailed here). The Glennish army made a resource grab, specifically Stormwood's lumber mills. Unlike Glory's Peak, though, Stormwood fell quite easily. Its population was enslaved, made to work day and night to produce lumber for the war effort. Later in the war, when the tides turned and Glenmark started losing ground, they razed much of what they had conquered before retreating, in an effort to deny the resources to the Tabirans. Stormwood was one of many victims of this.
So, to recap. Gryle watched hundreds of his fellow soldiers get killed on the battlefield. And then he finds out that his home was burned to the ground and everyone there- his friends and family- had been massacred. Yeah, PTSD hit him pretty damn hard. And instead of getting mental therapy, he just kept on fighting. At this point, he doesn't much care who hires him, or who he's supposed to kill.
I won't be using him for a while, but anyone who wishes to use him may.

Whoa, this guy sounds hardcore. And maybe a little broken inside. Kind of doubt he'll find the time to move on from those traumatic experiences though.
