So, you're working on a web comic... OK, not really working... well, maybe fooling around a bit... All right, all right, you made one page a month ago.
But you want to do better! And if you're going to be in this mess, you'd rather be in it with a bunch of other crazy people who are willing to give you a good prod in the behind when you need it--in trade, of course, for you doing the same for them.
Sound like you? You're in the right place. The point of this DA "club" is to band together to give each other moral support as we work toward a similar goal: the completion of a story in pictures.
NOTE TO APPLYING MEMBERS: Please let us know *why* you want to join. I've had to chase people down to see if they're really making comics lately, and it's not something I'd really prefer to be doing. You can submit at reason with your membership request, so please do!
Changes to Note
Critique Corner is here!!!
Anyone can join. Just click the join our group button at the top of our home page.
All members should be allowed to submit their comic pages directly to the gallery. As of now, your submission should be subject to review before it appears in the main gallery. The Featured Gallery as of today is locked, but the new galleries should be open!
We will not accept comics that feature: nudity, ideologically sensitive material, adult situations (innuendo is fine, if done tastefully or is under appropriate mature filter), excessive swearing (as in the entire comic would be gone if we censored it), or anything that falls into similar categories as these. In short, keep it friendly, keep it clean, and keep your clothes on.
Gore is allowed as long as it is under a mature warning.
Do not submit art that is not an actual comic!
You are limited to TWO submissions a week!
One Panel Strips
These are comics that only have one panel in the entire strip.
Slice of Life Comics
Comics that focus on the everyday drama of the protagonists. These comics do not necessarily have to take place in modern times or even on this planet. The only requirement is that the main plot be that of a normal existence.
These are for comics about animals. If the comic is mainly about animals that behave naturally, or focuses mainly on the animal aspect of the comic rather than a fantasy/scifi/etc. aspect. If you are unsure if your comic should go here or somewhere else, ask.
Fantasy and SciFi
Comics that feature supernatural powers, magic, mythical creatures, futuristic worlds, or other fantastical aspects go here.
Drama and Adventure
From emotional dramatic stories to action-packed globetrotting tales that explore new places... it all goes here!
Japanese comics or those drawn in the style of Japanese comics go here. These may fit in other categories as well.
Regardless of what other category it could fit in, all comics that are based off of another person’s creation (movies/tv/other comics/etc.) go here.
If it doesn’t fit any of the categories above, your comic goes here. Don’t be afraid to suggest a new category if you feel we missed something important .
Characters from Comics
These are where your character sheets and character portraits go. Do us a favor and make sure you have the comic the character is from linked in your artist’s comments. Only upload characters from your own comics.
Self explanatory. Any comic-related tutorials you make or want to suggest to us go here.
We're happy everyone is so eager to suggest favs, however, the group favorites will only be used for:
Comics of outstanding quality that are not by club members
Helpful resources and tutorials (If you find one that looks useful, submit it!)
Art related to the comics of members
Please do not submit the entire comic if you suggest a fav. Choose a page or two that you think is exceptionally good.
All fav suggestions that meet the above requirements will be allowed, and no others. Do not ask why your fav was denied if it was.
See here --> webcomicsanonymous.deviantart.… about how to get involved. Everyone (member or not) can give critiques!
But I give horrible critiques?!
Don't worry. We're not perfect, and you don't have to critique every single page (that would be annoying ), but if you notice something's off (like you got lost following the order of the panels, or you think it's bad plot-wise to have Bob visit Doughnut Hut, when he just said he was going to visit his girlfriend at Doughnuts-R-US). Remember, most people are happy for any suggestions to improve their work!
If you do not have comic pages posted in the gallery, it will be hard for people to determine if they want to mentor you!
