Chapter 5
The Ice World

Ice and snow swirled around the leaping and jumping form. Narvina, a female human, jumped and slashed downward at her imaginary opponent. Her imaginary opponent was actually a rock formation, which was quickly decapitated by the young Jedi Knight's swinging lightsaber. Narvina landed lightly upon her booted feet. Sweat leaked from her pores, and slowly dripped off of her nose.

Panting, the Knight dropped her stance, and disengaged her lightsaber. The blue blade retreated into the hilt of the saber with a slight hiss. Narvina stood in the snowstorm, inspecting her handiwork. Stone fragments littered the snow covered ground, quickly being covered in the fluffy white stuff. All of the formations within a twenty foot radius of the Jedi were maimed in some way. Deep cuts and even whole pieces of stone were hewed from the formations, leaving the stones scarred.

Satisfied, the young Knight realized she was getting cold. She pulled her fur parka closely about herself and turned towards her and her Master's encampment. Narvina started into a slow trot towards the base of operations. The raven haired young woman and the aging Ithorian Master were sent to this Force forsaken planet to investigate a lead into the whereabouts of a certain Sith Holocron. Muccoon Delta, supposedly the home of an old Sith Lord, going by the name of Darth Obman, whose temple and Holocron were supposedly lost in the freezing wastes of the planet.

As the raven haired woman thought, she felt the familiar presence of her Master, an Ithorian by the name of Viici. As the rather tall human, coming in at a surprisingly tall height of five feet ten inches, entered the camp, the Ithorian looked up from the small campfire he had built under a small escarpment.

"Welcome back, Jedi Knight Esccurnue. I hope you had a satisfactory training session?" The Ithorian's voice rumbled through the chill air; his quadruple throats and twin mouths sounding the words in stereo.

"Yes, Master, my small bout of lightsaber training went well indeed." Narvina Esccurnue answered her brown skinned master.

"Very good, very good. Come, have a seat next to this meager flame and have some sustenance." Viici nodded toward a bare spot on the bedrock across the fire from him. Intending to be funny, the Ithorian said, "The rations are relatively tasty, actually. They should be a delicacy on most planets, if you want to know what I think."

Narvina chuckled and sat down, quickly moving closer to the warmth of the fire. She gratefully accepted the ration bar the old Ithorian held out. She opened the package and took a bite of the dull bar. Instead of dull bar dissolving her mouth, she discovered she had bitten down hard… with nothing happening.
The bar was frozen solid, which caught the Jedi off guard. Her teeth grated against the bar, and Narvina quickly removed the bar from her mouth. Instead of trying to thaw it out in the fire, Narvina brought the frozen piece of nutrition up to her glistening blue eye, and studied it. She reached out with her mind and used the Force to find the ice crystals inside the bar. Narvina melted each individual crystal she came upon and, about a quarter of the way through, she decided it might be time to try the bar again.

Hesitantly, the Jedi Knight took a bite out of the bar. It resisted, but not nearly as much as the bar had on the first bite. She decided the bar needed a bit more thawing. Eventually the entire bar was inside the young woman's stomach, slowly being digested.
"Thank you Master Viici. That was much needed."

"You are quite welcome, my young friend. I had figured upon your being hungry, so I took the bars out here to thaw, but, as you could feel, it did not turn out that way."

Narvina laughed, "Yes indeed, Master," and rather suddenly, "Now, back to the business at hand."

"And this is?"

"Exploring the ancient temple, or at least finding it. We have hiked for days, always traveling towards the stain left by the Dark Side. We have rested here for many days, and I feel the temple near. Shouldn't we head towards it and possibly explore it?"

Viici's glad mood suddenly went sour, "You must learn patience, my young friend. Even as an apprentice, you were impatient."

Narvina smiled at the memories of her youth as a padawan at the Jedi Temple on the glorious planet city of Coruscant. Narvina bowed her head and quietly spoke, "Yes, Master. I shall try harder to gain patience."

Master Viici's somber mood lightened, "Now, young woman, I shall take your advice. We shall move immediately." The Master shoveled some snow over the small but bright fire, and moved into one of the two tents in the encampment. The one the Master entered was the supply tent. The other was the tent where Narvina slept. For some odd reason, the Ithorian Master wanted to stay in the supply tent, supposedly for her privacy.

As the Master exited the tent, he held two packs; one for himself and one for the Knight. The Ithorian handed the Knight the pack, and shrugged his own upon his broad back. Narvina shouldered hers. Without a word, the Master headed north, towards the plateau, which was past the escarpment in the middle of camp. Narvina followed the Ithorian into the swirling white snows of Muccoon Delta, to find that dark nexus of power; Darth Obman's Great Sith Temple, and his dark Sith Holocron.
Well, here's Chapter 5. Sorry it took so long guys. ;P

And, introducing the antagonist, Jedi Knight Narvina, and her not as important Ithorian Master, Viici.

Enjoy! =D
