The Fire And The Island II (Season 1 finale)

Razoul returns to the prides lair only to find Raja recruting three spotted hyenas he very well regonizes as the ones that attacked him before when he tried to gain Cameron`s ans Ryan`s and trust, much to his discomfort.Their leader,Dirk, promises that they`ll obey the old lions orders if he lets them scavenge of the prides kill.Raja is willing to agree on the contition that Dirk proves his usefulness by finding Ryan`s hideout,and so he sends the hyena on his mission with one of his lionesses for help.When Razoul comesto him he finds his boss in an extremly good mood, as Raja explains how the wildfire was the best thing that could ever have happened, as now that all the animals are trapped on this island, panicked,disorganized and with no means of escape and the pride will have an easy time ceasing power and he`ll soon be ruling them as their rightfull king!  

Elswhere on the island Ryan, Cameron, Mekela and Tally are wandering ,looking for someplace to hide when Skulk and his pack show up having found an entrance to an underground cavern hidden behind some thick foliage.Cameron is reluctant about sharing the cave with the four mutts, but Ryan talks her into it reminding her that the wild dogs were the the ones who found it.They come to an agreement on that,but Cameron firmly tells the canines that when it comes to any other troubles like food or protection they`re on their own.The group remains there for several hours, as several lion calls from the forest confirms that it`s not safe to come out, until nightfall finally comes.As everone else goes to sleep, Ryan goes to ask his leopard friend about what to do with the lion problem,she opts to remain hidden until the fire finally estinguishes on the mainland,while Ryan opts to fight and find a way to kick, but Cameron stearnly denies him to even attempt that.

The next morning Ryan sneeks out and climbs up a tall tree only to see the great wildfire as strong as ever.As the group starts feeling their hunger Cameron and Mekela decide to go off to catch dinner,but Ryan is ordered to stay behind and babysit Tally,much to his charging,while Skulk and his pack are reminded to get their own food. Once she`s out of earshot Skulk starts complaining about how annoying he finds her and opts to show her by catching the biggest prey animal they can find and keep it all to themself. Ryan,tired of being treated like a baby, instead convinces them that they should go and bring as much fresh meat back as possible to be shared among the group to show their worth to Cameron. After Ryan teaches them how to play the game "rock paper scissors "  which condems one of the canines with the boring duty of watching Tally, they head of on their hunt.

They find a large number of herbivores crowded on the far end of the islands sole lake, as Gorgon and his herd have claimed a good portion of it as their wallowing hole.Ryan devises a basic plan to have the 3 cape hunting dogs chase an animal into an ambush where he will strike it down with his spear. It works out perfectly and they`re soon dragging back a freshly killed kudu back to the cave.But on their way they soon sense a lioness being close by. With little time on their hand,Ryan tells the other 2 wild dogs to drag the carcass to the cave while he drags a fearful Skulk to distract the lioness.With Dirk by her side,they follow after Ryan and Skulk, the wild dog and hyena end up fighting each other while the lioness pounces on Ryan.He shoves the shaft of his spear into her mouth to hold her back,but only escapes after clawing her across the belly with his foot claw.She chases after him, having a hard time seeing trough the thick foliage of the forest Ryan soon stumbles down a hill, he quickly trgains his footing,grabs his spear and points it upward  just as the lioness jumps at him from atop the hill. Skulk`s fight with the hyena gets interupted by a loud,painfilled roar.Realizing what happened Dirk runs away in fear while Skull arrives to find Ryan alive laying at the bottom of a small hill with his spear impaled trough the dead lioness laying atop of him. After pulling Ryan out from under the 400 pound corpse they head of to find the others.

However once they arrive at the cave they find Cameron and Mekela there with no kill but plenty of claw marks on both of them.The leopard is understandebly angry is about to attack the cowering Skulk for "convincing Ryan" to go get himself in danger,but Ryan jumps between them telling her he went out on his own will.After noticing some claw marks on his Cameron makes him tell her how he got them,and only gets more outraged after hearing his story. Ryan argues back pointing out how she brought no kill back and that they would be starving now if he didn`t disobey her, the wild dogs back him up,and soon Mekela defends him as well reminding the leoopard about how they had to abort their hunt after being attacked by lions as well. However that angers Cameron only further as she suddenly lets out a powerful roar, frightening everyone around her, before going of further down into the cavern, angryly telling the others not to disturb her.
An hour later Ryan comes to talk to Cameron.Both feel a certain amount of guilt over their behavior,Cameron again repeats that her anger came from worry, and she quickly reashures Ryan that she`s well aware that he can take care of himself, but that`s of little comfort to her when a whole pride of bloodthirsty lions is after him.As Cameron starts seeing their situation as hopeless, Ryan reminds her about how they need to oppose Raja in one way or another, when she asks him how, he tells her how he`s sure their little group aren`t the only animals who wants the lions of the island out of their hair...

So Ryan assembles his group of friends to tell them about his idea to assembel every predator on the island to fight against the lions,right then Zan arrives begging Ryan to help his tribe against the Crowned eagle that has been attacking and killing numerous of their members ever since they came to the island,Ryans reasures him that since the eagle has apparently allied up with Raja they`ll take them both out at once.The meeting gets interupted by the flock of lappet-faced vultures Cameron coolaborated with before to find Ryan asking for the carrion she promised. Cameron tries to drive them off saying their alliance has long since expired, but Ryan invites them to the meeting, wispering to Cameron that they`re just the aerial messangers they need.The vultures get even more motivated to get involved, after hearing that one of Raja`s allies is an eagle, as Ryan and Cameron soon learn that raptors and vultures aren`t on very good terms with each other, which gives the little half human-half leopard an idea.

As night falls Ryan and Cameron come to meet Zula, who quite willing to give them a ride close to where the lions are currently residing.Telling the giraffe to stay close,in case they need a quick getaway, they spy and observe the lions from a secluded spot.They see that the pride hasn`t grown much since Ryan had been held captive by them, the 19 or so lionesses were apparently having some sort of celebration, they had numerous kills there : 3 zebras,4 wildebeest, 2 elands, 3 kudus and one huge cape buffalo, and they were eating their fills until they would get sick. Raja gives a grand speech congratulating them for farming all the bounty of prey items for themselves and soon they`ll starve the other predators into either obedience or death. Raja triumpantly explains how he`ll soon be the king of the island.

Ryan and Cameron then hear him berate the 3 hyenas for failling to find the former 2 hideout, then they spot the crowned eagle swoop down and to their shock inform the lion about how he has found their hideout and also how Ryan is assembling a ressistance against him. With the lions now on to them  Ryan and Cameron hurry to find Zula and get out of here, only to hear a rustle in the bushes, they turn to see non other than Razoul trying to escape. He doesn`t get far before colliding head first with one of Zulas legs, he then tries to run in another direction before getting pounced on and subdued by Ryan and Cameron.With their prisinor they ride off on the giraffe.
They return to their hideout where everyone the vultures had invited including cheetahs,brown hyenas and jackals have already arrived,but before Ryan can tell them that they have to reshedule the meeting to somewhere else, a large clan of spotted hyenas arrive, the same one Ryan encountered twice before, they`re arrival frightens the other animals,Ryan and Cameron get unearthed by their presence,but after letting herself be amused by the others fear the matriachs chuckeles and make it clear that they`re here to negotiate as they have a common enemy,and after hearing that the lions might arrive here at any moment they tell the others to follow them.

The lions soon enough arrive to find an abandoned cave, seeing that Razoul is absent Raja figured he had been caught and must have blabbed everything out. Frustrated he tells the eagle to go find out where his enemies are hidding now and tells Kira,Zuri,Sabi as well as the 3 hyenas to stay guard at the cave and capture whoever might return to it.

The hyenas lead the others and their bound prisinor Razoul towards a crack in a huge stone wall in the mountains  that turns out to be the entrance to a cavern the clan has been using to hide from the lions.Ryan and Cameron are suprised when the matriarch of the hyena clan holds no ill will towards despite the bad term on which they left during their last encounter, instead she admits that she found the boys boldness and apparent fearlessness quite admirable and worthy of their respect.They proccesed with the meeting where Ryan holds a speech about how if they all work together they can get rid of the lions.He then explains his plan at which point the aardvarks arrive at the meeting,as they`ve called to dig up some pit traps for the lions,and he also mentions how he had Zan and the other monkeys build 2 cages to trap their enemies as well.Right then one red colobus arrives to tell Ryan that they have set up the trap for the eagle....

The crowned eagle meanwhile is looking for them when he spots Zan waving at him and blowing rasssberries at him.The enraged raptor flies after him right into a hollow tree trunk where he finally catches the monkey and pins him down only to realize that there are 10 vultures looming over him who all imediatly swoop down and attack him. From the eagle they find out that Raja left part of minions to guard the other cave, so Ryan comes up with an idea and tells a frightened Skulk and his pack that they need them as bait.

As morning comes the 3 lionesses are getting annoyed with all the waiting and Kira is getting eager to tear out the intestines of the hyenas they`re stuck with until they see the 4 wildogs enterening the cave,they follow them and find them cornered against the cave wall. But as the 6 of them charge the ground breaks down beneath them, as the Skulk and his pack mates lean over the edge they seem them laying at the bottom of the pit,Skulk soon laughs at  Kira,Zuri and Sabi for falling for the same trap twice before leaving them there along with aadwarsk who have been hidding in the cave.

With no signs of the eagle, Raja leads the reminder of his pride to find the location of his enemies but to no awail. Frustated beyond belief Raja started yelling "Ryan! Show yourself you cowardly abomination!" again and again until Ryan finally revelead himself.Instead of surrendering he just teased the lions in chasing after him, Raja realized it was a trap,but he was to late to stop from stopping Nyala from ordering the other lionesses to chase after him.When they reached the spot one colobus cut the vine holding a large bamboo cage that fell down and trapped Nyala and 9 more lionesses.Raja and the remainining 6 were soon ambushed by the assembeled predators and a fight breaks loose.

Though larger and stronger the lions soon get outnumbered and overwhelmed, Raja fights with all his might to free but the others get incircled and forced into another bamboo cage,this one a little more tight for space. Raja tries to make a run for it but gets cut of by Ryan and Cameron ,the former holding a torch. The lion prepares for a fight but soon they are joined by Mekela,Skulk,the other wild dogs,hyenas,cheetahs and jackals, Raja realizes that he`s now alone and starts fearing for his life. "Not so tough now are you, your highness?" says Cameron with amusement as the others start yelling how they`re gonna beat him until he stops breathing, as the lion starts raving about how this can`t be happening, how he must win! Ryan tells him how this is very much happening,as the angry mob charges at him chasing across the island, until Raja runs out of ground and is forced to plunge into the lake. The others arrive to see his head break the surface and laugh at him as he curses that he`ll make them all pay before swimming towards the mainland."Oh go soak your head!" yells Ryan back at him before they all notice that the fire has gone out on the mainland making them all cheer.

Knowing the mainland won`t become green again anytime soon, the predators decided to stay on the island as long as their prey stays there, holding a truce between themselves while they`re there and hold a victory celebration. At the celebration Ryan reminds Cameron that they still need to get throw those 2 cages filled with lionesses of the lionesses of the island,but they`ll worry about that tomorow, though in the back of his mind Ryan has a slight feeling that there`s someone else forgot about ......

Back at the cave far up in the mountains Razoul,still hog tied, calls for someone to come and untie him but his pleas go unanswered. The erie sillence and diminishing light of the cave starts creeping the one eyed hyena out,but that soon get`s interupted by an ear piercing orchestra of chirps and screeches as a huge flock of bats flies into the cave and cling on,upside down on the cave`s  ceiling to sleep.A terrified Razoul tries to remind himself that these things only eat insects,not hyenas, but then he hears a small splash on the far end of the cave, then another one, and another one,and another one,until something splashes right on his nose making his eyes water at the stench. He soon screams in horror as he realizes what`s about to happen.......
