I know this is a comic for artists to draw firearms, but firearms safety is a key part of modern firearms and their use. Even the most basic amount of training will include fairly strict safety procedures, so that means you'll need to know the basics of safe handling if you want more convincing scenes (especially with elite or expert users). The next few pages will focus on it. Also, I'm trying not to draw any "real" firearms, but rather designs that could exist, because I want to focus on general principles rather than any specific models.
This is a short comic series to help with drawing and writing firearms into your comics or other art. I think that if you have a good understanding of the basics of how a firearm works, it will help you write better stories, and draw better pictures. The challenge for many artists and writers is that a wide variety of arms (or sometimes, any at all) are hard to easily get a hold of- or too expensive. Models and reference images can help, but they don't provide enough of the feel of how something works. Think of it a bit like drawing a structure underneath a figure- knowing how the parts of a body interact beyond just that they exist means you can draw a person in motion.

Always good to cover those safety basics first. Interesting note about the rifles you created here. Very cool.
