One Final Stop

One Final Stop.

Sitting in a grown-over field and basking in the last light of a lovely spring day, this old bus looked quite content... like another cold winter put behind her.

I couldn't help but imagine her in better days traveling sunset highways to destinations unknown ... all the bagged lunches eaten, books and magazines read, crying children consoled as she rolled along dutifully from town to town eating up miles of pavement.

It seemed to be a fitful rest for her ... and well deserved.
