Beware This Eve

By wb-skinner
My Halloween offering...

I took this photo in October 2006 as the sun went down over the pumpkin patch at the farm where I'm currently acting in a theater production entitled 'Field of Screams'

BOO! :D

~~~~
September 2007 - I sold this image to a publishing company for use as the cover of a Norman Partridge horror novel!
If you'd like, please have a gander at my mini-gallery devoted to Country Life
Was this at McCall's Land and Cattle Ranch in New Mexico? It looks the same from as far as I can tell, and they were also putting on Field of Screams. Just curious because I also did some shooting there ^^
What program do you use to edit these pictures? Even if you don't use it much. It is amazing, your photos are absolutly outstanding! <333
hi sorry for the late reply ... got miserably behind in comment replys. I used 3 exposures of the same shot bracketed at +1ev (thats 1 full stop up and down from the original setting) ... I loaded the RAW's into my editor .. saved as .tif and loaded into Photomatix which creates an HDR (high dynamic resolution) image (that looks like shit completely) ... then I tone-mapped the HDR image .. brings out detail in the shadows .. dims an overly bright sky etc... basically allows you to level out the tones of the photo using about 10 slider adjustments.... after that it went into Neat Image for a despeckling ... that can soften the sky also .. but in this case the sky was soft from motion between the exposures.
...from there into PSP where various forms of voodoo were performed on it like a curve adjustment and vignetting. This one is far more worked than most of my shots... but no more than most on the popular sheet these days :D
thanks for your interest! :wave:
