So something interesting happened today.
Now, I'm sure you guys are aware I have a feather baby. Namely an old cocketiel named Tita I've had for the better part of 12 years now.
And you've all heard of The Feathered Overlord, Empress Chicka, the African grey from hell.
Well, today we have a new addition by accident.
Apparently someone, somewhere, lost a green ringed-necked parakeet out in the open. And the ladies at work managed to capture the poor thing. And one of those ladies happens to be the wife of our house keeper who lives with us in the attic room.
Well, she decided to bring the poor girl home to me, since, you know... I'm the feathered mama in this house hold.
She seems fines, if a bit sniffly and ruffled. Not sure if it's shock or if she might have a cold. We'll see how she does in the next few days. Until then, she's safe and in the spare cage being allowed to rest. She's tamed and handle-able, but doesn't know the gesture command for stepping up... so we'll see how well she can learn.
I'm only assuming it's a she based on the dull coloration of her neck ring feathers. But she could just as easily be a youngster.
Here's to a new addition to the family?
(Still better than a crazy ass African grey. We're desperate to sell that bitch!)
