2 months. I can finish something in a month only if I have an idea with some preliminary sketches ready to go. With all the preparation (which mostly includes looking at references and planning) a more or less serious watercolor takes me a couple of months (actual painting can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks). I understand that it is because I am not a professional painter, but I have no idea how to speed up the process.
OMG ...I can not work on a painting for this long (and I'm no pro)...it get's boring for me...when I leave it alone for couple of days and it takes me 2 weeks to finish it...I'm more or less bored by it...can't wait till it's done
I think 1month is good. But, as I have a monthly schedule, and I do no more than 1 full watercolour a month, it's actually good for me, so I can schedule it for the next month. Usually I'm like: nooooooooo, I already have something big to do this moooonth, cry cry cry cry and honestly it's not worth it to submit something small and quick to the aquachallenge, since people always put so much skill into their copy cat pictures (yeah, sorry, I'm not in a good mood for art critique)
I think the 2 month period was too long to When it's a long deadline you put it aside and do other things, then you forget about this contest, then when you do remember you don't have enough time for it...maybe wait for the deadline to be extended and it's a mess XD
