2 months. I can finish something in a month only if I have an idea with some preliminary sketches ready to go. With all the preparation (which mostly includes looking at references and planning) a more or less serious watercolor takes me a couple of months (actual painting can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks). I understand that it is because I am not a professional painter, but I have no idea how to speed up the process.

OMG :wow:...I can not work on a painting for this long (and I'm no pro)...it get's boring for me...when I leave it alone for couple of days and it takes me 2 weeks to finish it...I'm more or less bored by it...can't wait till it's done :P

Respect for your determination^^

I think 1month is good. But, as I have a monthly schedule, and I do no more than 1 full watercolour a month, it's actually good for me, so I can schedule it for the next month.
Usually I'm like: nooooooooo, I already have something big to do this moooonth, cry cry cry cry
and honestly it's not worth it to submit something small and quick to the aquachallenge, since people always put so much skill into their copy cat pictures (yeah, sorry, I'm not in a good mood for art critique)

Ok..we skip the copy cat thing...:P

I think the 2 month period was too long to :plotting:
When it's a long deadline you put it aside and do other things, then you forget about this contest, then when you do remember you don't have enough time for it...maybe wait for the deadline to be extended and it's a mess XD

I always miss them...the first I see is the voting. Perhaps if you could submit a deviation announcing them so that it comes up in the watch more people will see it and have a chance to make an entry.

No problem...I like to get feedback, that way I know what works and what not. I had never problem with that. Sign Emoji-03 (Thumbs up)

But in that case, I was really really shocked, because I wanted to make sure that many people see the contest and that they get constantly reminded about it.

So I couldn't understand how could it be that someone still misses on this big news :wow:

NP I should have been more thoughtful in my response. I just always see the results and think, gosh it would have been nice to participate in that. :)
