Just recently dropped out of school and looking to devote my free time studying and drawing (painting?). I've acquired Loomis's full library, I've been watching and reading as much as I can and am now starting my hardcore studies (looking to do 365 Days in a row).
Right now, I'm having trouble progressing into building form through value. I'm used to doing so through line work (like you'd find in comics), but can't seem to break past that crutch. I'll post up each days' progress here.

I think I’m a glutton for punishment, particularly of the self-inflicted variety...Anyway, it’s been way too long. The last year and a half I’ve spent in recovery from a severe bout of PTSD (post-traumatic stress). During this time, I’ve been without work and have moved back to my hometown with my parents. My Macbook battery died quite some time ago, so my iPad mini is my only “computer”, though my dad’s got an old windows laptop he let’s me use, but it’s basically shit and I’m skeptical of its ability to even run Photoshop. I still don’t have a tablet...All I’ve got are some mechanical pencils, a stack of post-it notes, a sketchbook, and ...

So it's been awhile. I haven't really used DeviantArt reliably in, literally, several years. Life happened, basically, not to make an excuse out of it. But the last several months, I've started to pursue a career in storytelling, but I'm still trying to build my audience.I'll be hosting a live discussion over discord on Sunday, where we'll talk about storytelling (or whatever topics interest those involved). hey dude, i see you're working hard ! i know values are really tricky, since its important to create convincing forms ! i am myself only starting to understand them, just keep it up, if you need help on some explanations, advices, don't be afraid to kick my ass to help you ! cheers !

Hey no point in giving up. When it gets frustrating it means you're finally about to make a change in your skill level. Check out the crimson daggers, join the forum, follow the activities and post your stuff there. Everyone is super helpful and you'll get some great guidance in terms of improving and getting better
