For Love That Is Kind
Valentine’s Day 2026
By J.C. Solis
I know I’m a man whom you see is at fault
I am man who is not worth his salt
But know that, deep down, I urge to press forth
To challenge myself and still test my worth
I am a man whom you’ve met long ago
A man whom you’ve come to accept me as so
But though I am darkness, and you are the light
Know every sight of you brings me delight
For Love That Is Kind need not bear to see wrong
For Love need not count the mistakes made at long
But Love is compassion, and with me its desire
A heart of my own, which your gait lights on fire
I am a man who now wants you to see
To come forward and have you smile now at me
For I am a man who wants you to be mine
For it was your love that made my life divine
Your love was what changed me, and so I am healed
My fate will, no longer, have to remain sealed
And if you allow me to enter your life
I promise you joy and freedom from strife
The Love That Is Kind need not be
