J.W. Glaze was born on March 21, 1970 in east Texas. During his younger years he traveled across the country with his family, visiting and even living in many states across America, with his parents and younger sister; he now resides in Texas with his wife and children. Home schooled by his parents most of his life, he often wrote short stories and accompanied by his own art work he attempted to put his thoughts into words.
During his youth he made frequent trips to the Theater and Library. Some of his favorite works are J.R.R. Tolkien’s "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings", Frank Herbert’s "Dune", George Lucas’ "Star Wars", C.H. Lewis’ "Chronicals of Narnia", the various works of Tamora Pierce and Gene Roddenberry to name a few, and assorted graphic novels written by Marvel, D.C., and various independents.
Growing up in the eighties he listened to a variety of music, but composed music ignited his imagination and helped him to focus on his writing. He often listened to the various works of John Williams and Danny Elfman while writing Warstorms "Emergence". The final battle of Warstorms "Emergence" was written while listening to "The Brazilian", by Genesis.
The story of Warstorms began as the daydreams of a young man. The love of mystic tales and technological advances led him to craft a novel that he would enjoy reading. The project began as a hobby; he never intended to be published. He took a month to plot out the beginning saga, then sat at his desk and began writing in a notebook.
When he reached the end, he transferred the work to his computer, where most of Warstorms "Emergence" was written, although he sometimes found that the story flowed better when he wrote by hand.
All the characters in Warstorms "Emergence" are from J.W. Glaze’s imagination and are loosely based on family, friends, and people he met throughout his travels. It took him three months to write the first draft of Warstorms "Emergence" and two and a half years to revise it before giving it to his family and friends to read.
He decided to self-publish the book and so a third year was spent with another round of edits. While this was being done he began to design a cover, typeset the manuscript, and create marketing materials. During this time he also drew the map for Warstorms "Emergence".
Finally, the manuscript was sent to press, and the first books arrived.
J.W. Glaze's current projects are developing a role-playing game based upon his novel Warstorms "Emergence" in conjunction with continuing the Warstorms saga, with the aid of his studio Tri-Citidel Studios.
Tri-citadel Studios is a new company that is attempting to open its own store front to produce several novels, role playing games, the manufacturing of miniatures, gaming & other paraphernalia.
