Basically I've been tagged to do a journal entry about some of my Original Characters that I've used in my written work... so here we go...How many OCs do you have? (post thumbnails here if you feel like):
I have in total 14 Original Characters, for all of whom, I should add, there is no artwork to represent their appearences. They form the cast for my Steampunk fiction set in an alternative universe where in that version of the 21st Century, Britain still has an empire, and it’s original 13 colonies in North America. France and Russia still retain their respective monarchies having never witnessed the revolutions that shaped them politically in our own world. Oh... and steampower is still the main driving force.Meet the characters!01: Lord Daedalus Van Lichtenstein IV
My main longest, and most developed character, he is also the main lead in the Van Lichtenstein Chronicles, but also appears in current and future written pieces set in the same universe, according to his backstory, he was born in 1980, his full biography may be read here… OC PROFILE: DAEDALUS VAN LICTENSTEIN IV02: Lady Ophelia Van Lichtenstein
Daedalus’ wife and one time partner in the field, she stands at five feet, eight inches, tall with jet black hair, grey-blue eyes, a slightly tanned complexion, and of course strikingly beautiful, she met Daedalus through Sir Henry Warbar whilst during her early employment with the organisation known as Whitehall. Her age is unknown through her choosing not to disclose it, though it is believed she is of similar age to Daedalus.04: Robert Tackon
Born in 1980, Robert Tackson is valet, personal assistant, jack of all trades, master thief and locksmith, employed by Daedalus after meeting him at Cambridge University whilst employed as Deputy-Head Porter, and recruited along side his employer as an agent of Whitehall. Stands around five feet, eleven inches tall, with dark brown hair and green eyes and like his employer is a keen swordsman. He’s also a fully trained marksman with full honours received during his brief time in the army.05: Lieutenant General Sir Charles Fitzwilliam III
A man in his late forties, nearing to early fifties, with slightly greying dark hair, brown eyes and standing around six feet tall. He is the commanding officer of U.K.I.T. an organisation set up to root out internal threats to the Empire. His full title is Lt. Gen. Sir Charles Fitzwilliam III of Her Majesties 2nd Army of Foot and Light Artillery.06: Brigadier Gideon Vrekt
Newly promoted, Brigadier Gideon Vrekt is perhaps the youngest officer ever to attain the rank of Brigadier at only the age of 34. Standing at five feet, eight inches tall, with a mop of sandy hair his full rank and title is Brig. Gideon Vrekt of Her Majesties 4th Colonial Light Infantry.
He is the man who taught Robert Tackson his skills as a Marksman. It is also said he has other skills and abilities that may or may not be of the beyond.07: Vice Admiral Sir Henry Warbar RN
Born in 1979, and standing at five feet, five inches, with cropped dark hair and hazel eyes, Sir Henry was in fact the youngest ever officer to attain the rank of Vice Admiral, however it was more than mere ingenuity and happenstance the gained him the rank, as it is a known fact that his father Sir Michael Warbar was at one time, Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal Navy. Sir Henry however has taken a position in Whitehall and is the main contact for not only Daedalus, but Sir Charles and Gideon Vrekt also.08: Lord Vilhelm Von Hardrada II
Born sometime in the late 1970’s and standing at six feet, six inches tall, with cropped blonde hair and blue eyes, Vilhelm Von Hardrada is a manipulative, cold hearted, demon of man, or at least that’s what the journals would want you to think. he is however correctly stated as being a shrewd and cunning politician, which however, comes at the price of opposition and he has chosen to make his main rival and self made enemy Daedalus Van Lichtenstein, whom has sought to thwart his ambitious political schemes at every turn. Yet appearances can be deceiving.09: Lady Isabella Von Hardrada
Young, ambitious and ruthless, three words to describe the five foot, seven inches tall, blonde, blue eyed woman, nicknamed “The Harridan”. Even though she is only in her very late twenties, she is already the head of a conglomerate of business enterprises referred to as ‘The Corporation’ a global firm that trades across the empire and in allied nations. Her husband Vilhelm is considered tame compared to her ambitious, and incredibly ruthless persona. She really does have cold heart of stone, and takes great pleasure at personally dispatching anybody who displeases her or disobeys a direct order. Could there even be someone possible worse than she?10: Lord Magellan Van Oberon
Cousin to her majesty Queen Celestine, and her personal secretary and advisor. Standing at Six feet all exactly with dark brown hair and brown eyes, he is the chief political contact of Sir Henry, who answers to him before answering to the Crown.11: Professor Edward Stream
Chief medical examiner and scientific researcher to Whitehall, born in 1981 to Doctors John and Elizabeth Stream, first met Daedalus at Cambridge University whilst studying medicine, physiology, biology and chemistry. Edward stands at five feet, six inches tall, with rustic brown hair and green eyes.12: Professor Helios Van Tiber
Little is known about the mysterious Helios Van Tiber, no one knows his true age, nor his true appearance, every time he appears on the screens of his new image-communicators, he can appear as young or old, male or even female, clearly he wishes to hide his true identity from those who perhaps would end up exploiting it for their own gains.13: Queen Celestine Van Oberon of Britain and Empress of the British Empire
Similar age to Daedalus, standing at five feet, six inches tall, with silver hair and green eyes. Celestine is the Queen of the United Kingdom, and current ruling Empress of the British Empire. She is known for her love, care and affection for her people, who have given her the title “Celestine the Tender”, for her tenderness and love for her people is without measure. Her beauty and intelligence is known across the globe which brings many suitors to the palace, however she has eyes only for one man, and one man alone, yet he cannot be hers for he is already with another. She has never revealed the identity of this man.14: Sir Vladimir Petrovic-Radken
Perhaps the most evil, callous, black hearted brigand there ever has lived. Sir Vladimir Petrovic-Radken is around sixty years of age and stands at around five feet, three inches tall, with greying hair and piercing blue eyes. He’s known to be a confidence trickster, pickpocket, cutpurse, loan shark, assassin, narcotics trader, murderer, and all this from the comfort of his country estate. Sir Vladimir Petrovic-Radken is indeed the true epitome of the term Crime Lord. What little business he isn’t involved in isn’t worth knowing and what business he is involved in is incredibly dangerous.Do you have a main/favourite OC amongst the ones you created? Who and why?
It definitely has to be Daedalus Van Lichtenstein himself as he has been in developement as a character by me since my teenage years, the other characters have been developed around him since then, and he has evolved from a small bit part in an amateur script I once wrote for a film which was to be made by me and some friends, however it was never even filmed. However the character of Daedalus has remained with me, and now lives in my written work.Who is the tallest? (feel free to specify height, if you have thought it up)
Lord Vilhelm Von Hardrada II is actually the tallest, at being over six feet tall, estimation is around six feet six inches exactly.Who has the most striking and unique eyes?

The most selfless character is actually Daedalus as he is prepared to sacrifice himself for the good of all humanity in order to protect those whom he holds close to his heart. On the other side of the coin the most evil/selfish/malevolent/callous is definitely Sir Vladimir Petrovic-RadkenWho is the most thoughtful and/or erudite?
The most thoughtful character is Vice Admiral Sir Henry Warbar, as he is known to consider the facts before making any decisions (even if they seem irrational), the most erudite character is Lt. Gen. Sir Charles Fitzwilliam III.Who is the most impulsive and hot tempered?
Each and every character can be equally impulsive, and the most hot tempered (to the point of cold-blooded murder) is Lady Isabella Von Haradrada.Which of your OCs is the one is the one you consider more revealing about yourself? And what does that OC reveal about you?
To be honest I have never really considered my characters to have any basis set around myself, one or two of them are based around elements that have crossed paths with me during my life time, personalities have been embellished and redeveloped, and yes some characters have perhaps been developed during darker periods of my personal life. However no one character as pointed out above is overall a projection of my personal self.I now "tag" any one who has Original Characters of their own and would like to have a go at giving a little bit more information about them to the world.
