Hello! Is anyone out there looking for a commission/project to do on the side, or to give themselves something to do if bored? I'm trying to get some badge art made for a character of mine, and I'm looking for something slightly more polished than what my current level skill can provide. Be forewarned, the character in question is a FNAF-style animatronic wolf, so I would prefer someone with experience drawing anthros/furries.
Since both the badge, and the character being depicted, are to serve as a visual representation of myself to the public eye, all work must be SFW. No exceptions. However, due to the character's ties to Five Nights at Freddy's, a tasteful use of gore is permitted. Now, I only have ten points to spend on this, so I'm not expecting anything outrageous. Can be either digital or traditional, though I'd like to see some examples of previous work.
There's only one other prerequisite I would like to add, and though it may seem simple, it means a great deal to me: do try to stay in contact regularly. I can understand people working at their own pace, and that life sometimes gets in the way of things. But that's no excuse for not maintaining contact with a client. This includes preliminary thumbnail sketches, as well as an occasional WIP update. I don't mind waiting for quality work, but don't expect me to be content with "radio silence".
These are the references I intend to have used as a general guideline. The first link will be of the original character (OC) in a full-body portrait, with all work done by yours truly. This link will also contain a physical description, character traits, and backstory. The second will be of a free request of said OC, made by a fellow artist on Google+. It's only a bust shot, so it should only be used to get a better idea of how draw the character's head and facial features. Welcome to the freak showWarren the wolf FNAF (by Maxaroni)
That said, I would prefer that the work be done in your own
unique art-style. As far as payment is concerned, I would prefer to go the route of "half now, half upon delivery". In other words, half upfront and half upon completion. Needless to say, I've been burned a couple times before, and I've since learned from my mistakes.
The completed work should include: either a full-body or upper torso piece, with the character's name below it. Don't forget to cite all work and references when submitting it to DA. As they say, give credit where credit is due. If you do decide to accept this project, please be sure to send me a note, and I'll due my best to respond promptly. Best wishes, and thank you for considering!
