Volkner, Verne and that other guy no one cares about.

I've been debating with myself whether or not to upload this on dA - on one hand, it's kind of messy (in that ohh-I'm-not-going-to-clean-my-lineart-lol kind of way;; ) on the other, it's kind of an important teaser.

Anyone remembers Verne from the Burning Bridges? He's the blonde with the Pikachu on page 2: [link] and he reappears in the extra comic here: [link]

Since the day page 2 went up, people've been asking if he's related to Lt Surge. He is.

Without giving anything away, Verne, Surge and Volkner all have something in common, but they're not the same person. You're welcome to guess how they're related (but there shan't be any prizes, I'm afraid, besides you smugly knowing you were right all along when he next pops up in the comic. xD)

You know, this might make a nice pokemon age meme. Is anyone planning on trying something like this?
