Finally got around to changing my username.  I think this one won't be outgrown, but maybe changed stylistically.

:icondragonteaplz::iconsaysplz: Greetings everyone!

I haven't been on in awhile, so I figured I would post a few pics and a journal to update.  So I am in love with the Pennyrile National Forest!  I went there with family for my birthday.  We stayed for a couple days of hiking and adventuring.  The area is known for its miles of hiking trails and forested areas!  Also for its terrain and many natural dwellings that were used by my ancient ancestors!  There was even one on one of the hiking trails that could've fit a house! up to 300 years ago, the first people (native americans) used it to house up to 12 people! What a place! Talk about connecting to your ancient past!!! Must backpack there.

I do need to go camping or backpacking or get back to fencing practice, just something to get my mind off things.

Just a warning, this is the venting section where I write some things that may be depressing.  I am a low drama llama, but sometimes writing things helps.

Autumn is certainly a season for change, and this is true for lives as well.  Nothing can make that statement more clear than the pressing reminder that in 2 days, my family will have been without my younger brother Zack for 2 years.  Still, Zack and I had some good times, and if I get depressed about it and stop remembering those good times, he'll haunt the crap out of me!

My birthday was one of the best I've ever known, but not all was well during the trip.  I still have to deal with just being out of a 2 year relationship that went toxic.  I have been in a slump, and being in my apartment has not helped, but I will not natter on about that here. This situation isn't all bad.  Yes, I have healing to do, but I've learned as well.  I am ready to rebuild a life worth sharing, and hopefully find someone worth sharing it with.

OK, venting section over.

I should probably go over some plans for the future that involve certain aspects of art and career goals.

I am making a forge to try my hand at blacksmithing! I really want to make blades, and making a forge seems very inexpensive with the right resources.  an anvil, on the other hand, will be tougher to find.

Still looking for a master falconer around where I live to take me in.  Must call the game warden soon  to see if he has any leads.

Also, I am probably going to get back into photography!! I just need a good CF card for my camera and I can be the shutter-happy camera man I was in photo class!  Especially during camping/backpacking trips.  Wildlife and nature shots? Oh, hell yes!

So that's about it for now. I'll try to be more frequently active here. I think I can definitely manage this, now that I am back home and moving forward.

:icondragonteaplz::iconsaysplz: Hey guys, spring is just around the corner!

Is anyone else excited for springtime?  I can't wait to hit the woods and go camping.

Anyone have any camping traditions or favorite things to do when camping?

Update time!

2 min read
:icondragonteaplz:  Greetings, friends!

It's been ages since i've been on, so I figured I'd give an update and let people know I'm still alive and whatnot.

A few things have happened. Some good, and some not so good.  I've recently started practicing medieval and renaissance martial arts with a group based in Murray State.  The longsword is my favorite, but I can't wait to start doing shield work.  Medieval and renaissance cultures have always fascinated me, so this is quickly turning into a passion.

And now for the bad news.  Due to the drawn out verification process Murray state has chosen to put financial aid applicants through, I've been forced to sit back another semester.

As far as my art goes, I'm definitely not out of the picture!   I know I haven't posted in awhile, and shall soon make up for that with a new crafty bit that I decided to try, and I've been doodling (I always do that, though I don't throw every doodle up here)

In deciding to help out a friend with his directing class, I have inadvertently landed myself into the role or Harold

ALSO, I'm co-authoring a fanfic with a close friend of mine! All the pokemon hype has gotten my nostalgia going and I thought I would 1) get back into writing, and 2) finally get pokemon y!

I'd like to catch up with everyone. How are you all doing??

Poor Owl

1 min read
Hey guys, I have a story from last weekend for you all.

My family and I witnessed a rare event last saturday.  A great horned owl was attacked by my great grandparents' pet dog.  My dad and sister were able to remove the dog from the owl, but the poor guy was in bad shape.   I'll link a video to my journal of the poor little guy's story.

everyone watch this, there is always an option to help an injure bird.
