Greetings everyone!
I haven't been on in awhile, so I figured I would post a few pics and a journal to update. So I am in love with the Pennyrile National Forest! I went there with family for my birthday. We stayed for a couple days of hiking and adventuring. The area is known for its miles of hiking trails and forested areas! Also for its terrain and many natural dwellings that were used by my ancient ancestors! There was even one on one of the hiking trails that could've fit a house! up to 300 years ago, the first people (native americans) used it to house up to 12 people! What a place! Talk about connecting to your ancient past!!! Must backpack there.
I do need to go camping or backpacking or get back to fencing practice, just something to get my mind off things.
Just a warning, this is the venting section where I write some things that may be depressing. I am a low drama llama, but sometimes writing things helps.
Autumn is certainly a season for change, and this is true for lives as well. Nothing can make that statement more clear than the pressing reminder that in 2 days, my family will have been without my younger brother Zack for 2 years. Still, Zack and I had some good times, and if I get depressed about it and stop remembering those good times, he'll haunt the crap out of me!
My birthday was one of the best I've ever known, but not all was well during the trip. I still have to deal with just being out of a 2 year relationship that went toxic. I have been in a slump, and being in my apartment has not helped, but I will not natter on about that here. This situation isn't all bad. Yes, I have healing to do, but I've learned as well. I am ready to rebuild a life worth sharing, and hopefully find someone worth sharing it with.
OK, venting section over.
I should probably go over some plans for the future that involve certain aspects of art and career goals.
I am making a forge to try my hand at blacksmithing! I really want to make blades, and making a forge seems very inexpensive with the right resources. an anvil, on the other hand, will be tougher to find.
Still looking for a master falconer around where I live to take me in. Must call the game warden soon to see if he has any leads.
Also, I am probably going to get back into photography!! I just need a good CF card for my camera and I can be the shutter-happy camera man I was in photo class! Especially during camping/backpacking trips. Wildlife and nature shots? Oh, hell yes!
So that's about it for now. I'll try to be more frequently active here. I think I can definitely manage this, now that I am back home and moving forward.
