There has been Speculation that the inspiration of the Birth of Venus was Lucrezia Borgia. That could not have been. Lucrezia would have been no older than 6 years when Botticelli painted it. Interesting theory nonetheless.
I see someone already beat me to the "Birth of Venus" comparison. I also prefer this one. It is a modern interpretation. It is neither coquettish or crude. It is honestly sexual and unashamed in it presentation.
